Bobcat News November 2

Bobcat Buzz: Message From Admin
Hello Bobcat Families!
What a busy and exciting week at Brentwood! Our Halloween activities brought lots of fun, laughter, and school spirit throughout the building. Our Logos classes also enjoyed a special off-site field trip to Heartland Alliance Church.
We also had lots to celebrate over the weekend as our two volleyball teams competed in the Bev Facey Falcons Elementary Volleyball Tournament. Both teams played hard and battled their way into the final round, finishing in an exciting first- and second-place finish! What an incredible accomplishment! A big thank you to our coaches for their time, dedication, and support in making these opportunities possible for our students.
This Friday, students will come together for our Remembrance Day Assembly as we take time to reflect, remember, and honour those who have served and continue to serve.
As we wrap up another busy week, we wish everyone a wonderful November Break. Enjoy the time to rest, recharge, and spend time with family and friends. We look forward to welcoming everyone back!
Have a great week, Bobcats!

Remembrance Day Assembly
This Friday, all students at Brentwood Elementary will come together for our Remembrance Day Assembly, led by our Grade 5 students. This will be an opportunity for us to pause, reflect, and remember the courage, sacrifices, and service of the men and women who have served our country and those who continue to serve today.
We are honoured to welcome Master Corporal Chance Burles, who will be joining us as a guest speaker and sharing a special presentation with our students. Through stories, music, and moments of reflection, we will recognize the importance of peace, freedom, and the responsibility we all share in showing kindness, respect, and gratitude.
Students who belong to Guiding, Scouting, or Cadets are encouraged to wear their uniforms that day. All other students are encouraged to dress respectfully for this special occasion.
Please note that, due to fire regulations, parents and families are unable to attend the assembly.
We encourage families to take a moment together over the November Break to talk about the importance of Remembrance Day and what it means to remember.

BESC Updates
Hey Brentwood families,
Thank you to all who attended our movie night last week! It was a blast and so fun to see our community come together. A massive thank you as well to our volunteers, without whom we simply could not function. You are all amazing!
BESC has an ongoing number of very simple fundraisers that we’ve used for the past number of years. Please bring your receipts in and drop them off in the main office as we turn them into each corresponding business and earn money for our school! The businesses are as follows:
Boston Pizza
Save On Foods (Wye Road)
Cobs (Wye Road)
Mabel’s Labels: choose Brentwood Elementary from the drop down menu and we receive a portion of the sales! www.campaigns.mabelslabels.com
We will have more fundraising events coming up this year and will update as we get them organized. The money raised is used for teacher classroom funds, equipment, and extras for the school. It also pays for the winter concert and occasionally other school events like Brentwood in Motion.
If you would ever like to help out or if you have any questions, please reach out to us at besc.info@gmail.com.
Thank you!
Attendance to the OFFICE
Dear Families,
We kindly ask for your help in keeping our attendance records accurate and up to date.
- After school messages MUST be at least 1/2 hour prior to end of day.
If your child will be absent, late, or leaving early, please be sure to notify the school office directly by phone or email (both available 24 hours a day). While it may seem convenient to message your child’s teacher, those messages do not always make their way to the office—and this often results in unnecessary phone calls or emails home as we try to confirm your child’s whereabouts.
A helpful way to think about it:
- If the office knows, everyone knows.
- If only the teacher knows, only the teacher knows.
Teachers may be away or unable to check messages during the day, and the office is the only place where attendance is officially recorded. We are also the only ones able to enter any absences, whether it’s for a day, a trip, or even extended time away.
Your support helps us ensure student safety and saves everyone time—thank you for helping us keep things running smoothly!
