Feedback Survey for Healthy School Hours Option A vs. Option B Feedback Survey for Healthy School Hours Option A vs. Option B

Dear Bedford Public Schools Community,

The Bedford Public Schools Healthy School Hours Working Group presented two options to the School Committee for potential shifts in school hours for the 2027-2028 school year:

  • Option A: 2-tier busing, elementary schools start at ~8:00 am, secondary schools start at ~8:30 am (with the potential for staggered starts).
  • Option B: 3-tier busing, a “flip-flop” of current JGMS/BHS start times (7:40/7:45 am) with Davis (8:55 am) start times (Lane start would remain at 8:24 am), though the end times will shift since both options would require the elimination of early dismissal on Wednesdays.

Full details can be found here. This brief survey is designed to gather additional feedback from stakeholders to help inform the next steps for the Healthy School Hours Working Group and the School Committee. This survey will be administered to community stakeholders including parents/caregivers, staff, and students in grades 5 - 12. If a parent/caregiver would like to opt their student out from taking the survey, please contact their principal directly no later than Thursday, January 22nd.

This brief informational video may be helpful to watch before taking this brief survey. Please complete the survey no later than Friday, January 30, 2026. Thank you for sharing your thoughts!

Best,
