Hello!

We know communicating through cell phones and social media is almost like a rite of passage our kids can have. We have unfortunately had it brought to our attention multiple times that sometimes these conversations cross boundaries into being inappropriate and mean to current classmates. Please help us ensure that all students feel safe by having conversations with your child about what it appropriate and what is not when it comes to conversations with others. Even if they think they can go incognito, or delete it, once it's sent, it is out there.

Here is what we tell them:

In fifth grade we know not everyone is going to be friends, that's just real life! However, you can still show respect towards someone without being friends with them, even if that respect just means you staying away from them and not talking to or about them. If you wouldn't want it said about you, don't say it about someone else.

Have a great week!

Valentine's Day Party

Valentine’s Day here we come! This year will be calm, cool, and quiet, NOT! In celebration of their LAST Valentine party, we will have movies, games, photobooth, and goodie bags for the kids. Yes, they still pass our valentine goodies! Please sign up below to help make it happen!

Today, teacher's Valentine mailboxes were placed in the 5th Grade house. Please remind your child to write a sweet note for their teacher and drop it into their mailbox! These notes will be delivered 2/14 with lots of LOVE from ALL!

We will be having a second round of Interim Testing in February. This will be just like what we did last semester, except this time they will take one for science as well. Just like last time, this will do two things for both us and the kids: students get a chance to see the different types of questions they will see on the actual STAAR test later this year, and it will help us to see where they are now that we are just a few months away from the end of the school year.

These dates will be as follows:

February 7th-8th: Reading & Math Interim

February 14th: Science Interim

STAAR Testing

We have the finalized dates for when we will take our 3 STAAR tests this year. We wanted to go ahead and give you these dates so you are in the know!
