Week 8 2026
Happy fall!
With fall conferences in full swing, we wanted to provide you with a couple of reminders:
- Please wait in the front atrium for your child's teacher to come get you for your assigned conference time.
- Punctuality is important! We are unable to wait more than 5 minutes for late arrivals. Teachers often have conferences scheduled back to back and delaying one conference will likely throw off the rest of the schedule.
- Most importantly: If you are unable to attend your scheduled conference time, please cancel with the teacher! Conference times before or after school are scheduled during our personal time. Early cancelations are appreciated because they allow us to adjust our schedules accordingly.
What we're learning!
Students working to:
- explain an author's purpose for using figurative language and imagery in a text.
- write an organized paragraph.
- solve two step addition/subtraction word problems using the six step framework.
- describe how the addition or removal of heat can change an objects state of matter.
- analyze a map using the acronym TOADSKI.

Mass Screening Date
Dear Baker Families,
To support our students' health and success, Baker Elementary will be conducting state-mandated health screenings during the school day on October 7, 2026. These routine checks help us identify potential vision, hearing, or health concerns early so every child can thrive in the classroom!
Screening Schedule by Grade Level:
- 1st, 3rd, & 5th Grade: Vision, Hearing, and Risk Assessment for Type 2 Diabetes
- Kindergarten & Students New to the District (2nd & 4th Grade): Vision and Hearing
A Quick Reminder for Parents: If your child wears glasses or contact lenses, please make sure they wear or bring them to school on screening day so we can get the most accurate results.
If any screenings indicate that a child might need further evaluation, Nurse Wilson will follow up directly with families by sending a referral letter home. Nurse Wilson is always here to partner with you in keeping our students healthy, safe, and ready to learn. Please don't hesitate to reach out to the clinic if you have any questions!
