Superintendent's Report
WHS Flex Factor Regional Winners
Dr. Ison recognized the Waynesville High School Flex Factor Regional Winners who came in first out of 14 teams. This is the first time WHS Flex Factor students placed; one team (Neuropasock) placed first and another team (Refrigerator Gator) placed fifth. The first place team members, Abby Buck, Jackie Wright, and Lola Dubard, presented their project to the Board.
Work-Integrated Learning
Waynesville Junior/Senior High School Assistant Principal Shelby Herlihy shared takeaways from her week-long trip to Germany and Switzerland to learn about work-integrated learning experiences and student apprenticeships. She traveled alongside various Warren County administrators and educators, business representatives, and county officials. The trip aimed to gather ideas for expanding career readiness opportunities at Waynesville Jr./Sr. HS. The goal is to empower students with practical skills, broaden their exposure to potential careers, and foster meaningful partnerships between local businesses and school districts.

Treasurer Carolyn Huber recommended donations, appropriation amendments, and necessary fund transfers for April be approved; she also included a resolution authorizing the district to participate in EPC Bus bid.

Mrs. Huber noted that the time is coming when WLS will need to ask for additional funding. She explained that the district is currently deficit spending because expenditures are exceeding revenues. The district has not asked for new operating money for 16 years, since 2009.
