Message from the Principals Message from the Principals

Hello everyone,

We had a wonderful Art Show this week. Thank you to the volunteers who tirelessly worked to prepare student art work for hanging. We couldn't have done it without you. The new addition of a glow in the dark room added to the evening. Attendance was terrific! Thank you for you continued support for all of our events here at South Row.

Next up....the Sunshine Dance on Saturday from 6:00 to 8:00. Hope to see you there!

Additionally, we shared the district family survey through email this week and strongly encourage all families to complete the survey as the results help to inform future planning. Please consider completing this important survey.

Family SURVEY

Respectfully,

Terri and Jayson

Family Survey - PLEASE COMPLETE! Family Survey - PLEASE COMPLETE!

Dear Chelmsford Families,

Our district values your feedback! We are currently surveying The Chelmsford Public Schools families in order to gain insight into your perception of our school and district's effectiveness. We also want to better understand barriers to families accessing our schools and programs. To ensure we continue to provide high quality, rigorous learning experiences that meet the needs of our learners and prepare them for college and career, we need your feedback. We want to know what you think.

To administer these surveys, we have partnered with Panorama Education to conduct our 2026 Family Survey as we did in 2023, 2024, 2025 as well. Panorama safeguards your privacy, keeping your responses anonymous. The survey shouldn’t take more than a few minutes to complete and will be a valuable source of information for us as we work to make our schools and district as good as they can be.

You may complete the survey online between Thursday May 6th and Friday June 12th using a computer, tablet, or smartphone by visiting the website below: https://surveys.panoramaed.com/chelmsfordma/family26/surveys

If you have multiple CPS school-aged children, please feel free to fill out multiple surveys to represent each individual child’s experience. The first question on the survey will be a dropdown to select which school you are filling the survey out for.

We thank you in advance for your thoughtful responses. If you have any questions about the survey administration, please don’t hesitate to contact your building Principal.

Thank you in advance for your time.

Nurse's Corner Nurse's Corner

As we all enjoy more time outside (finally!) I wanted to send some sun protection information:

User uploaded image
zoom_out_map Show in original size

Sunscreen tips:

  • Choose a broad spectrum coverage ideally SPF30 or above. Mineral sunscreen is usually best for individuals with sensitive skin. There is limited data that sunscreen above SPF 50 provides more protection.

  • Put sunscreen on 15-30 minutes before going outdoors and reapply every 2 hours.

Other sun safety tips:

  • Sunburns can happen even on cloudy days as most of the UV rays can pass through the clouds! UV rays can also bounce back from surfaces (water, sand, snow and concrete).

  • Wearing protective clothing is another great option to protect skin from UV damage. The UPF rating on clothing can help you identify clothing that protects skin best (a rating of UPF 50 fabric blocks 98 percent of the sun’s rays).

For more information about sun safety: https://www.healthychildren.org/English/safety-prevention/at-play/Pages/Sun-Safety.aspx

Spring Allergy Season
Spring is here!! If your child experiences seasonal allergy symptoms such as sneezing, itchy eyes, nasal congestion, or coughing, Please contact your child’s pediatrician or allergist to discuss when to begin seasonal allergy medications.

Many providers recommend starting medications before pollen counts begin to rise, which can help reduce symptoms once the season begins.

If you have any questions or would like to discuss your child’s health needs, please feel free to reach out.

Respectfully,

Nurse Martin

Basket Raffle Committee Looking for Help! Basket Raffle Committee Looking for Help!

If you are also interested in joining the Basket Raffle Committee and would like to learn more about the behind-the-scenes planning process, please let us know. Additional people would make it possible for us to create sub-committees (similar to the Pumpkin Fair) so we can divide and conquer more easily! This event lends itself to teams such as classroom volunteer coordination, donation collection, basket wrapping, presale ticketing, and day-of-event organizing. We’d love to have a few extra hands to be sure the Basket Raffle can continue once our kiddos move on from South Row.

2026 Hannaford Helps Schools program! 2026 Hannaford Helps Schools program!

2 WEEKS REMAINING to help support South Row PTO with your weekly grocery shopping! South Row PTO is participating in the Hannaford Helps Schools program! This 2026 program will run from April 5 through May 30. During this time, our community can support our school by shopping for specially marked items. For every 4 participating products purchased, shoppers earn 3 School Dollars. At checkout, customers receive a School Dollar printout that they can redeem online and direct funds to our school.

Using Hannaford To Go? With Hannaford To Go, School Dollars are not provided at pickup. Instead, about a week into May and again a week into June, Hannaford will email you a unique code reflecting the total School Dollars you earned in the previous month from qualifying purchases.

To redeem School Dollars, simply enter the unique printout code and store number on the Hannaford Helps Schools website or app, then select our school. Each School Dollar printout also includes a QR code linking directly to the website, making it quick and easy to redeem School Dollars.

Thank you in advance for participating! :)
