Dear 6th Grade Parents and Families,

Just in case your child is interested in some fun at the bowling alley...

Intramural Bowling Sign-up is extended to this Sunday, Nov 12 at 11:59 pm. The 1st day is next Wednesday, Nov 15. Students must sign-up themselves with their Strongsville account. Students must be signed in as a SCS student. Parents fill out the permission form. Turn $60 fee in the main office. Email cmaatz@scsmustangs.org and rmester@scsmustangs.org with questions. We have developed behavior expectations for all students at SMS. We have High Expectations and High Accountability for Everyone. Please take some time to read the content below so that you know and understand the process of discipline at SMS. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out with questions at any time.

One focus this year has been on our behavior systems and making sure we are holding our students to the high standards that we have here at SMS. To help with that we've made some changes to our behavior system and discipline.

Detentions

• No longer after school
• Will be served at 7:00 am and students need to report at that time to the main office
• If a detention is not served, they will be give a Saturday detention
• Saturday detentions will be held at the high school for 2 hours

Progressive Discipline for minor behaviors

• Students can receive 3 detentions then they will be issued a Saturday Detention
• Then students can receive 3 Saturday Detentions then they will be issued In-School Suspension
• Then students can receive 3 In-School Suspensions before out of school suspensions will be issued

**This does not include major behaviors according to the hand book.
