District administration is working through the 2026-27 District Student Handbook review process.

The goal is to create one district handbook that is clear, consistent and easier for families, students and staff to use. A district handbook helps ensure expectations are aligned across Fowlerville Community Schools and that families have one clear place to review important student information.

The handbook includes information about student expectations, attendance, behavior, safety, school procedures and family-school communication. Families will receive access to the final handbook after approval by the Board of Education.

Start Practicing Those Back-to-School Routines Start Practicing Those Back-to-School Routines

With less than two weeks until school begins, now is a great time to start easing your family back into school-year routines. After a summer of later nights and flexible schedules, suddenly switching to an early school morning can be tough for both children and adults! Begin gradually moving bedtime and wake-up time closer to the school-day schedule. Encourage children to put away phones, tablets, video games and other electronics at least one hour before bedtime and make 20–30 minutes of reading part of the evening routine. A consistent bedtime routine and a good night’s sleep can help students arrive at school rested, alert and ready to learn.

Mornings deserve a little practice, too! Start getting everyone up, dressed and moving at the time you’ll need to once school begins. Practicing these simple habits now—rather than waiting until the night before school starts—can make the transition from summer to school much smoother. A little preparation over the next two weeks can help your child begin the new school year feeling rested, confident and ready to learn!
