ERHS Counseling
2023-2024 School Year
Welcome Message
I hope this letter finds you and your family well and ready for a new school year! It is hard to believe, but another school year is well underway. We are excited to start up the 2023/24 school year and look forward to reconnecting with/meeting our students and families!
Please know we are here to support your student's academic, social/emotional, and college/career needs during the year. We collaborate frequently as an ERHS Counseling team to prepare information, resources, and support you. We encourage you to read this newsletter in its entirety as we want to provide important information about some of the programs our Counseling Department offers.
We are ready, willing, and able to support you, your family, and our community this school year. We look forward to connecting with you soon and it is my hope that this year is full of many successful experiences for ALL!
As School Counselors we support students in three domains: academic, personal/social, and college/career. In these three domains, we focus on supporting the whole student throughout their years at our site and hope that they leave with valuable skills. We work collaboratively with all stakeholders to ensure equity, access, and success of ALL students. Our work is driven by their needs, data and feedback.
We are available all school year for scheduling concerns/questions, assistance with communicating with teachers, grade concerns, navigating the college A-G requirements, college applications, financial aid, career navigation/exploration, personal/social counseling, crisis counseling, group counseling/workshops, referrals/resources, etc.
We will send announcements of workshops/events/presentations or reminders specific to Counseling periodically throughout the year. Please double check your contact information on Q Parent Connect and update if needed. I want to make sure you receive information from our Counseling Department.
We’re just a few days from kicking off the 2023-24 school year! During registration your student's School Counselor will be available in their office. To find Counselors’ office location click here.
Please know that School Counselors have reviewed each student's transcript for his/her/their needs. We have double checked to make sure students are on track with graduation, A-G and/or CCI. School Counselors have gone through each schedule to ensure that the courses students are in are ones that will help students fulfil their post secondary goals as well as meet the required areas for graduation, A-G and/or CCI.
Special Common Day Schedule for the 1st day of school, August 8th!
August 11, 2023 @ 4 PM: Last day for student initiated schedule changes!
PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT WE MAY NOT BE ABLE TO ACCOMODATE ALL SCHEDULE CHANGE REQUESTS. ALL requests will be reviewed and we will determined if the change is possible. It could be that there is no room in the class or there are conflicts with your schedule that do not allow for a change to be made. Your request may also cause the rest of your schedule to shift, which means other classes/periods/teachers may need to change.
We try to accommodate all schedule change requests as best we can, following our Schedule Change Policy. Please keep in mind that schedule changes for the following reasons cannot be honored:
- Teacher preference
- Lunch time preference
- Period preference
