WHO'S UP FOR TRIVIA?
Do you know...?
... "Jingle Bells" was originally written for and inspired by Thanksgiving, not Christmas? The song, first titled "One Horse Open Sleigh" and written by James Lord Pierpont in 1857, was inspired by popular sleigh races in Medford, Massachusetts, around the time of the Thanksgiving holiday.
- Thanksgiving theme: The lyrics describe a sleigh ride, a popular activity in the 1800s. Some accounts say it was first performed by a Sunday school class for a Thanksgiving program.
- No mention of Christmas: The original lyrics do not mention Christmas at all.
- Connection to Christmas: Over time, the song became associated with Christmas because it was performed at that time of year, and its popularity continued to grow

Parking Lot Expectations!
Recently, there have been growing concerns about students driving recklessly and at unsafe speeds in the school parking lot. This behavior puts everyone at risk—drivers, passengers, pedestrians, and staff. The parking lot is a shared space where safety must come before convenience or showing off. Speeding, cutting through spaces, and driving on access roads are unacceptable and may result in a loss of parking privileges. All students are expected to drive responsibly, follow appropriate speed limits and remain aware of their surroundings at all times. Additionally, you may not be driving on the access road behind the school. There are construction vehicles and other machinery present while the area is under construction.
