PTA Weekly Update
September 16, 2024

December 1, 2025
Good morning Huskie Families,
Welcome back! We hope you enjoyed a restful Thanksgiving week and your kids got plenty of time to play in the snow!
Multicultural Day is coming up THIS Friday, December 5. We still need several parent volunteers to help bring this fun event to life! See below for more info on what our kids will be doing and learning about!
As always, check our website for all things related to the Spring Brook PTA!
Have a good week!
Spring Brook Goes Around the World for Multicultural Day
Friday, December 5th is Multicultural Day at Spring Brook! During the school day, students will "travel" to four different countries including Taiwan, Moldova, Germany and Palestine to learn about them and participate in a craft or activity specific to that country's culture.
Parent Volunteers:
We need your help! To make this day run smoothly for our students, we need parents to help facilitate crafts and activities at each country's station. Sign up here!
Student Posters:
As a way to represent even more countries that are part of our Spring Brook culture, we'd also like to see students create a poster representing their heritage. Last year, the hallway was filled with vibrant, detailed posters representing many different countries, and they were beautiful! The posters will be displayed around the hallway to the gym for students and parents to admire.
Use the poster guidelines below and turn it in TODAY, December 1st. Make sure posters are labeled with student name, class, and contact email. We can't wait to see what you create!
The Tile Project is Underway!
The Tile Wall Project is your child's opportunity to create art that will be printed onto ceramic tiles and hung forever on the walls of Spring Brook. Encourage your child to leave their legacy. Kids love to go down the tile hall to see their tile art!
The cost is $20.00 per tile. You can register and complete your artwork anytime from now through December 19, 2025. All finished artwork is due by December 19, 2025.
Flyers went home with kids before Thanksgiving break. You will also be provided with digital copies of these items once you have registered for this project. Please allow up to 48 hours to receive the materials and check your junk mail, the email will come from sb_tilewall@hotmail.com. Students should complete their artwork at home and return finished masterpieces to the school or event coordinator Adrienne Sagen.

Now Collecting Donations for Bingo for Books!
We are excited to host our annual Bingo for Books event again this year, on January 8. This event is a great opportunity for your student to gather with their Huskie friends to have some fun and win books!
We are currently collecting donations of any good condition, elementary appropriate books. We do not accept board books, and can always use more books for our 4th & 5th grade students.
Book donations can be delivered to the school starting December 1. Prior to that, you can arrange for a pick up or drop off with our Bingo for Books chair, Jacqueline Baird.
Community Relations
A Note from Our Community Relations Chair:
As the PTA looks for new ways to partner with the community to enrich the lives of our students, we are expanding our sponsorship program for events during the 2025-2026 school year.
If your family owns or is connected to a local business and is interested in sponsoring a Spring Brook event, please see the attached letter for more information or reach out to Ellen Muryan.
