A NOTE FROM MRS. B
Howdy Bronco Family! Wow, it’s hard to believe that November is here, and Thanksgiving is only a few weeks away. While Hobby Lobby already has Christmas-stocked shelves, we are going to slow down the holiday spirit and cheer and not pass by the month of being thankful.
I am thankful to have the privilege and opportunity to be part of this great Bronco family. I am incredibly thankful to be a small, and hopefully impactful, part of the students’ lives while they are all a big part of mine. I am so thankful to work with the best staff in the state. I am thankful to be a part of the best administrative team with Mr. Turner, Mrs. Estes, and Mr. Atcheson. I am forever thankful than my journey has led me to Meadow ISD and Meadow, Texas. What are you thankful for?
Remember, you can always find the latest Meadow ISD news on the MISD website and Facebook page, so go check them out! Also, check your kiddo’s backpack and folders for any important paper notes that may have gone home.
Don’t forget to contact your child’s teacher if you have any questions about what is going on in the classroom. We are always here to help.
It’s ALWAYS great to be a Bronco!
Mrs. B
¡SIEMPRE es genial ser un Bronco!

3RD GRADE - MRS. HOUCHIN & MRS. SMITH
Hello 3rd grade family,
This week we continued working on our nonfiction unit. We practiced using our “SNOTS,” small notes on the side, to help us identify the purpose and text structure that the author uses in different texts. This week we mainly focused on the two text structures, cause and effect and problem and solution.
In phonics, we worked with vowel y and the different spelling rules that creates the three different sounds that it makes.
In grammar, we worked with contractions, possessive nouns, as well as the simile “sly as a fox.” We corrected and revised sentences by adding adjectives and replacing the verbs.
In social studies, we are continuing with our unit over maps and globes. Working with a compass rose, students are able to identify the cardinal directions, intermediate directions and understands how to correctly follow directions using a coordinate map and compass rose.
Reminders:
Spelling tests are on Fridays
Daily homework is due every day
Check your child’s take home folder everyday for important notes and sign
Please read with your child for at least 20 minutes a night so we can reach our A.R goals (:
Thank you for all you do,
Temple Smith

4th & 5th Math
-In 4th grade Math, we are still working on learning long division. We started on this last week things looked like we were on the right track but come this week and it seemed like we went down to square one again. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers. 🙃
-In 5th grade, we are dividing with decimals. We are working on wrapping up this chapter and moving forward to fractions.
-All 4th and 5th Graders need to practice multiplication math facts every night for 5 minutes. Please, please, please…the numbers and the work is getting more challenging and not knowing multiplication math facts make it seem impossible. Some students shut down or do not turn in assignments.
