MUSTANG SPOTLIGHT - MRS. MICHELE KUBAITIS, SHS MATH TEACHER
Mrs. Michele Kubaitis is in her twelfth year teaching math at Strongsville High School. Mrs. Kubaitis earned her undergraduate degree from Purdue University and her graduate degree from Ashland University. She raised her daughters in Strongsville - all SHS alumni - but now lives outside of our city. “I love this place so much that it is worth the drive! The administration is supportive, my colleagues are top-notch, the kids are great, and the community is awesome,” says Mrs. Kubaitis.
“I like making our high school students THINK! I especially like it when we have those "light bulb" moments in class. My theme this year is "yet." I want to focus on getting students to say ‘I don't understand this YET’ - and providing them the opportunity for their curiosity and perseverance to figure it out.”
Thank you Mrs. Kubaitis for continuing to challenge your students and for giving them the opportunity to grow in your classroom! #ModelMustang

SHS WELCOMES NEW GROUP OF STUDENTS IN CAREER EXPLORATION PROGRAM
Yesterday, SHS Administrators and Mr. Jancar welcomed the new two-year cohort of the Career Exploration Program (CEP) with a ‘get to know you’ breakfast.
This program is in its fifth year and provides SHS students the opportunity to explore different career pathways and, in the process, develop durable skills that employers are seeking from this new generation of workers.
Many growth opportunities occur throughout this two-year program, including field trips to local businesses, guest speakers in class, and resume building and mock interview exercises to prepare students for “life after SHS.” Best of luck to all of the students selected to participate in this impactful program at the high school!
COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS SURVEY
Our Early Learning Preschool has formed a Community Connections Committee. This committee is working to foster deeper learning experiences by creating opportunities for real world connections and exposure for students at the preschool. One of the ways the committee is hoping to make connections with students is through community members visiting classrooms to share about their careers. They are also looking for organizations in the community that are willing to partner with the preschool in meaningful ways. Interested in learning more and making an impact with our ‘Mini-Mustangs?’ Click HERE to fill out a survey so that the committee can follow up with you!
