I hope you all had a wonderful and restful Thanksgiving break! We are so excited for your students return tomorrow and look forward to hitting the ground running for the final three week stretch of the Fall semester.

Reminder that we will have a "welcome back" Kona Ice day tomorrow. This event is a fundraiser that benefits the school separate from PTA. If you would like for your student to participate you will need to pre-order their Kona at WWW.KONA-ICE.COM/PAY and use the code F0103978. There is an option to pay-it-forward if you would like to purchase a Kona for another student in your child's class. If you have multiple students in different teacher's classes then I highly recommend adding separate items to your cart instead of increasing the quantity of one item in your cart--this will give you the option to pick a teacher for each item purchased.

Owens PTA wants your help in spreading holiday cheer! Complete the scavenger hunt as a family to be entered into a giveaway!

As the second semester rolls around we are looking to employee a number of part-time individuals who would be willing to pull small groups of students for targeted intervention. You would be assigned to one or more grade level teams and provided a schedule and curriculum to follow from our teachers.

This is a flexible opportunity that can work around your schedule. You could work as few as 2 hours a week or as many as 30 . There will be a screening process and you would have to register as a "substitute" with the district.

I have started highlighting students who are being successful in their extra curriculars outside of school on the morning announcements. If you ever snap a video of your child doing something exceptional at sports, dance, gymnastics, music, church, or in the community please share it with me so I can highlight them for exemplifying the 7 Habits outside of school. Keep videos to under 30 seconds. You can submit it above in the blue "submit pictures of your students" button.
