WEEK 27
Week 27 (March 10 - 14)
Dear World Class Parents/Guardians,
I want to express my deepest gratitude to the Hawthorne Foundation Board led by Mrs. L. Anderson for making the HORNET HUSTLE this past week such a success! Your unwavering dedication and support continue to have a tremendous impact on our school community, and for that, we are truly grateful. Thank you to everyone who attended and volunteered during the HORNET HUSTLE.
Congratulations to our Team of the Month our 2nd Grade Team!!!!
A huge shoutout to our basketball teams for double wins on Saturday. With one game left before the championship, we’re rallying the entire school to come out and show support. Wear your school colors or gear and click the link below to purchase spirit wear from our PTA.
We are off to a fantastic start with our reading initiative: with more than 30,000 minutes read in our Annual Reading Challenge in just two weeks. The reading challenge is vital to our students' success, and I need your continued support to make it a resounding success!
As we push forward, I want to reiterate the importance of keeping our campus safe. We’ve made incredible progress, but we must remain vigilant—especially during carpool hours. Please follow the staff’s instructions during AM and PM carpool to ensure the safety of our students. Every action we take contributes to maintaining a secure environment.
Lastly, I cannot overstate how crucial consistent student attendance is to academic success. We are working hard to ensure every child attends school regularly and arrives on time. Our goal this year is for no student to miss more than 18 days of school. Last year, our attendance rate was 93%, and we’re aiming for 95% this year. Your full support is essential to making this happen. Consistent attendance is the foundation of providing every student with the quality education they deserve.
Thank you once again for your support. It’s an honor to work alongside all of you to educate and nurture your children. Let’s keep up the great work and keep this momentum going!
Let’s make this week count—on purpose as we continue to Go for G.O.L.D - Growing Our Learners Daily!
Proud to Serve,
-Principal Henley
