Focusing Our Commitment to Unlimited Success!
Teacher Appreciation Week
National Teacher Appreciation Week and National Teacher Day is a time to honor the dedication and hard work of educators across the United States.
Teacher Appreciation Week aims to recognize the vital role teachers play in shaping the lives of students, families and communities. Teachers are the cornerstone of our education system, guiding and nurturing students to reach their full potential. Their tireless commitment to fostering learning environments where all students can thrive deserves our utmost appreciation.
We are grateful for the teachers of Endeavor High School.
Special Delivery!
Region 4 Executive Director Dr. Rodney Wilson delivers a gift bag to Endeavor High School science teacher and 2023/2024 Region 4 secondary teacher of the year Rhonda Perez in honor of Teacher Appreciation Week.
National Nurses Week May 6 - 12
National Nurses Week is May 6-12 each year. Since 1972, National School Nurse Day has been set aside to recognize school nurses. National School Nurse Day was established to foster a better understanding of the role of school nurses in the educational setting. School Nurse Day is celebrated on Wednesday, May 8 during National Nurses Week.
School nurses are more than just healthcare professionals; they support students, providing physical, emotional, and mental health services within the school setting. From administering first aid and managing chronic conditions to promoting healthy habits and offering emotional support, school nurses contribute significantly to students' overall well-being.
Endeavor's nurse is Lauren Garza. Nurse Garza graduated from Houston Christian University in 2021 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. This is her second year as a nurse and school nurse in Channelview ISD. She loves working and providing care for the community and students.
Graduation Ceremony Location Change!
Endeavor High School's graduation class has grown by one-third from last year. There are a potential 96 graduates this year. This will be the biggest graduating class in its 32 year history!
To safely accomodate the family and friends of our graduates, the ceremony will take place at the Bill Neal Center located at 828 Sheldon Rd., Channelview, TX. The date and time have not changed (May 24th, 2024 at 7:00 PM).

Make-Up Attendance
To receive credit for class, a student is required to attend school for at least 90 percent of the days the class is offered Section 25.092, TEC. Students with excessive absences may restore credit as provided by local policy.
There are some Endeavor students who have not attended school 90% of the time offered and owe make-up attendance. Those students have been sent an email with information how they can recover their credit via coming to Endeavor at 7:30 AM for a predetermined amount of days. Students who do not recover their credit through make-up attendance are given a final opportunity by attending Saturday school at CHS from 8:00 AM until noon also for a predetermined amount of days. The latter information is shared with the parent via email.
Unfortunately, there are some students who have not attended any of the make-up sessions. These students will be losing credits and will be given accelerated classes to receive the credits. Please note that attendance will be monitored during the period that credits are earned. The negative cycle will continue if a change in attendance does not improve.
Due to attendance being state law, there are no exceptions to make-up attendance. Endeavor has created a program for everyone to have the opportunity to be successful. However, ATTENDANCE IS MANDATORY for the opportunity to exist.
If you have any questions conserning your child's attendance, please contact our attendance clerk Mrs. Barrientos at 281-457-0086 or by email at veronica.barrientos@cvisd.org.

ACT and SAT Info
What is the ACT/SAT test?
Both the SAT and the ACT are nationally administered, standardized tests that help schools evaluate your application and see how prepared you are for college courses. The SAT and ACT generally cover the same topics. Both ACT and SAT scores are used for college admissions decisions and awarding merit-based scholarships. Most colleges do not prefer one test over the other. Neither the SAT nor ACT is harder than the other. Different students tend to do better on one test than the other.
