Please make sure your child is on time. The test will begin promptly at 8:45 am. Students who are not on time will not be able to test in that session.
How You Can Help Your Child Prepare:
To ensure your child does their best, we encourage the following:
- Make sure your child gets a good nightโs sleep each evening
- Provide a healthy breakfast each morning
- Ensure your child arrives at school on time
- Encourage a positive mindset and remind them to simply try their best

CSD App
Stay Informed with the CSD App
The Crestwood School District (CSD) App is one of the fastest and most convenient ways for families to stay informed about what is happening in our schools. The district and individual schools use the app to share important updates, school news, events, and weather-related school closures, so it is important that all families download the app and keep it up to date.
If you do not already have the app, we encourage you to download the CSD App on your phone to receive notifications and stay connected to district and school information. The app allows you to follow specific schools and easily find news, events, and resources.
If you already have the app but are not receiving notifications, you may need to delete the app and re-download it to ensure it is updated properly. This simple step can help restore notifications so you do not miss important time sensitive announcements.
Staying informed helps families stay prepared. Be sure to download or update the CSD App so you can receive timely information and updates from the district. Click here for more information on our app: https://www.csdmi.org/o/csd/page/download-our-app.

Safety Concerns
Thank you for your support with this. We have seen a significant improvement in the unsafe driving that was previously occurring on Kinloch and Lawrence โ and we truly appreciate your partnership in putting our children first and keeping our community safe.
As a reminder, we also need everyoneโs cooperation in our main parking lot during arrival and dismissal. For safety reasons, there are NO left turns out of the parking lot during arrival or dismissal times. Left turns create a serious safety concern and cause traffic to back up within the lot.
- - - - - - - - - - - -
Ensuring the safety of our students is our top priority. As we review our traffic safety procedures, we have noticed concerning traffic and parking concerns. We ask for your cooperation to ensure a smooth and secure drop-off and pickup process. Please review the following guidelines:
Morning Drop-Off (8:25 AM โ 8:40 AM)
Safety First: Students should only be dropped off on the passenger side of the vehicle directly onto the sidewalk.
Curbside Only: Please do not allow children to exit in the middle of the parking lot or in the left lane.
No Early Drop-Offs: Staff is not on duty until 8:25 AM. Please do not leave your child unattended before this time unless they are going to breakfast at 8:15 AM.
Flow of Traffic: Form one line in the designated drop-off lane and pull as far forward as possible.
Afternoon Pick-Up (3:40 PM)
Designated Areas: Please follow the designated traffic route and pick up only at the school-assigned location. Make sure you are parking in a designated area.
Stay in Vehicle: To keep the line moving, stay in your vehicle. If you must assist your child, please pull forward into a parking spot first.
No U-Turns: To maintain safety, do not make U-turns or park in neighboring driveways.
No Left Hand Turns: Into Parking lot during arrival. Please avoid all posted illegal left hand turns during drop-off and dismissal.
No Blocking Crosswalks: Please do not block crosswalks - this does not allow for safe crossing for students and parents. This is especially a problem at the intersection of Kinloch and Lawrence (behind the building).
We appreciate your partnership in keeping our school community safe.
Kindergarten Round-up
โฐPLEASE READ-----Early Pick up
To help ensure a safe and smooth dismissal for all students, we are implementing a new dismissal procedure effective February 2nd, 2026.
After 3:00 PM, students will only be released for early pick-up if the office has been notified by 12:00 PM the same day.
This change is necessary to:
Reduce congestion in the main office at the end of the day.
Maximize student instructional time.
Allow staff to focus on dismissal supervision.
Maintain a safe, orderly environment for students and families during our end of the day processes.
We understand that unexpected situations can arise, and we appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we work together to keep dismissal safe and efficient for everyone.
If you know ahead of time that your child will need to be picked up early, please be sure to contact the office before 12:00 PM.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership.
I-Ready celebrations
We are so proud of our students who showed growth in either Math or Reading on their i-Ready diagnostic!
In May, we will continue to raise the bar and will be celebrating students who demonstrate growth in both Math and Reading. We are excited to continue cheering on our Koalas as they work toward reaching their goals!
Keep up the great work, Koalas โ we believe in you! ๐จโจ
Kindergarten Registration ๐๐ซ
Please keep toys at home
We recognize that, on occasion, an early pick-up may be necessary. However, we have been experiencing a significant increase in parents arriving within the final minutes of the school day. This creates congestion in the main office and presents safety concerns due to the number of individuals waiting for students inside the building.
Unless there is an urgent or unavoidable situation, we respectfully request that families wait until the designated dismissal time to pick up their children outside. Adhering to this procedure helps us maintain a safe, orderly, and efficient dismissal for all students.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Creating a kind and respectful community ๐
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As part of our ongoing effort to build a kind, respectful, and inclusive community, we encourage you to take a moment to talk with your child about the importance of treating everyone with understanding and acceptance.
Please remind them that our differencesโwhether in background, appearance, ability, or beliefsโmake our community stronger and more vibrant. A kind word, a welcoming gesture, and a respectful attitude can go a long way in helping everyone feel valued and supported.
Thank you for partnering with us in nurturing empathy, respect, and inclusion in all that we do.
Car Line Reminder!
AFor everyoneโs safety and to help arrival run smoothly, please remain in the designated car line at all times. The inner lane should only be used if you are parking your vehicle.
** During dismissal, please do not park along the side of Kinloch, as this creates unsafe conditions for students and families. Your cooperation helps keep everyone in the safest possible environment.
A few tips to make arrival quicker and smoother:
-
Please make sure youโve said your goodbyes before reaching the drop-off area.
-
Have your child ready with their backpack when a staff member or safety opens the door.
-
For everyoneโs safety, please refrain from using your phone while in the car line so we can all stay alert and move up safely when itโs time.
Thank you for your patience and continued support in keeping our students safe!

Birthday Treats/ Celebrations ๐๐๐
If you are planning on your child celebrating their birthday in class, we kindly ask that you choose one special treat to provide for your child on their special day. We encourage you to keep treats small and easy to share or enjoy individually. Please remember that classroom celebrations are meant to focus on recognizing our students and creating joyful memories together. Keep in mind that this is a nut-free school, so do not send in nuts of any kind.
I-Chat
Please ensure your I-Chat is completed yearly and up to date with our office. It does take a few days to process so keep that in mind when planning ahead for volunteering opportunities!
