PTA Update from the Eagle's Nest
PTA Newsletter: Week of September 22, 2025
A word from the Bingham Boo Chairperson
Hi Bingham Families,
We can’t wait to welcome all our Bingham Farms families inside the school on Friday, October 17th from 6:00pm-9:00pm for the PTA’s annual carnival-style event – The Bingham Boo!
This family-friendly event tends to be a highlight of the year for many students. Costumes are encouraged, but not required. Feel free to come anytime during event hours and stay as long as you’d like!
If you’re new to Bingham, you might be wondering what is Bingham Boo? And if you’ve attended in the past, you may be wondering – what’s new for 2025? Let’s take a look!
Activities
- Carnival Games: We will again be hosting unlimited carnival style games throughout the school – now with all new games for 2025! Be sure to visit the Bingham Midway in the gym for lots of excitement. Play to win coins, or earn them just by participating. Then head to the prize area to redeem your coins for fun surprises.
- Trick or Treat Trail: The trick-or-treat trail can be found in the kindergarten wing, where participants walk around a numbered circle while music plays and then freeze when it stops! If their number is called, they will head to the treat table and choose one item from an over-the-top, truly impressive spread of over 150 donated goodies.
- Entertainment: The music room will be hosting four sing-along shows with Beverly Meyer, The Music Lady throughout the night. Make sure to check out one of her shows at 6:30pm, 7:00pm, 7:30pm or 8:00pm.
- Witches' Brew Party: Step into the art room for a bubbling witches’ brew party! Help create a special potion that you might even get to drink…if you dare! Parties will be held at 6:45pm and 7:45pm.
- Photo Op: Head into the media center to snap a keepsake photo at the photo op wall and possibly be joined by one of our surprise characters.
- Balloon Twisting: Don’t miss Rockin’ Robot balloon twisters while in the Media Center. They’ll be twisting up fan-favorite creations from 6:00pm-8:00pm.
Food
- Pizza: Of course, there’s also food… Your wristband purchase includes a slice of Domino’s pizza and a drink available in the multi-purpose room.
- Popcorn & Cotton Candy: No carnival is complete without popcorn and cotton candy! Passes can be purchased ahead of time or night of (based on availability) for $2.00 per item and redeemed at the stand in the multi-purpose room.
Test Your Luck
Teacher Raffle: For our students, the very popular teacher raffle will be back. Our generous staff donate over 30 awesome experiences for students to win - such as “Principle for the Day,” lunch with friends and teachers, sports fun and more.
- Tickets are only $0.50 each, so buy a whole sheet of 10 for only $5.00! Tickets can be purchased in advance, filled out at home, and brought to the event. Just drop them into the corresponding numbered pumpkin bucket in the media center. Don’t worry if you need more that night – extras can be purchased at the registration desk until 8:00pm. Drawing starts at 8:30pm and you don’t need to be present to win.
- Can’t make it to Boo? You can still buy tickets and send them to school, filled out before the event. We’ll make sure they’re placed in the raffle buckets on your behalf. Be on the lookout for this year’s listing of items as well as your student’s complimentary raffle ticket from the PTA – coming home soon in backpack mail.
50/50 Raffle: We don’t want our adult attendees to feel left out of the game. We’ll be holding a 50/50 raffle where you can win big!
- Tickets will only be sold ON-SITE and must be paid in CASH. Buy 1 for $5.00, 3 for $10, 8 for $20, and 25 for $50.
- The big winner will be announced during the teacher raffle drawing and needs to be present to win. Keep an eye out for roaming ticket sellers throughout the event, or stop by the desk outside the main office to buy your tickets.
Trick or Treat Trail Donations
The incredible offerings at the Trick or Treat Trail are generously donated by our amazing parent community. If baking is your thing, this is the perfect time to get creative and show off your skills! Rather keep it easy? Store-bought treats are just as welcome and encouraged. Our goal is to offer a wide and inclusive variety of goodies for everyone to enjoy.
Bingham Boo Volunteers
It takes a village to bring all this Boo magic to life! The success of Bingham Boo depends on the support of volunteers – and we’d love for you to be a part of it! We welcome all adults- parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and caregivers- who are willing to lend a hand, sign up to help during the day or a shift during the event. We have lots of options to choose from. Find the spot that interests you and join us in making this a memorable night!
Do you have a middle or high school student? We also need a lot of student volunteers to help run carnival games and other fun options during the night. Bonus volunteering at our event counts towards their service hours.
Volunteer Opportunities: During School
Each newsletter, we will update volunteer opportunities for ways to get involved in the school and see your kiddos. No experience needed, just warm smiles and a willingness to help out.
New: Library Assistance shifts added! Help check-out and reshelve books Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays 8:45-9:45am.
Volunteer iChat Form - MUST DO!
We love school volunteers throughout the year. If you plan on helping out at school or visiting a classroom as a guest reader, a new iChat form must be completed annually and will be kept on file for the 2025/2026 school year. Once you complete the form, you can email it to LPfershy@birmingham.k12.mi.us or drop it off in the school office.
PTA Membership Toolkit
Purchase your PTA Membership, Ice Cream Pass, Bagel Pass, and Classroom Funds
All families are encouraged to purchase a PTA Membership and Classroom Funds.
