Week of June 2nd- June Already?!

It’s hard to believe we’re down to the final two weeks of school! We’re making the most of every moment together as students complete end-of-year assessments and celebrate their growth as readers, writers, mathematicians, scientists, and more. Student progress will be reflected in report cards, which will be available in the portal on the last day of school.

This Week’s Highlights:

  • Grade K Enrichment tomorrow morning
  • Grade 2 will enjoy their walking field trip on Tuesday

  • Grade 3 will have an awesome "whalemobile" enrichment Wednesday

  • Grade 1 is off to the zoo on Thursday

With the forecast heating up, please help your child stay cool and comfortable by:

  • Sending them with plenty of water

  • Dressing them in weather-appropriate clothing

Our building gets warm quickly, and we want everyone to feel their best throughout the day!

Thank You, Field Day Volunteers!
A huge thank you to all the families who volunteered for Field Day. Your energy and support made the day incredibly special—we couldn’t have done it without you!

Upcoming Celebrations:

  • 5th Grade Moving On Ceremony – Wednesday, June 12th

    • Doors open at 8:45 AM | Ceremony begins at 9:00 AM

    • Light refreshments served until 10:30 AM

    • All 5th grade families are welcome, though space is limited.

    • If you'd like a younger sibling to attend, please email their teacher to have them sent down at 9:00 AM.

  • Kindergarten Family Picnic & Celebration – Thursday, June 13th

    • Please check with your child’s teacher for details—we hope to see you there!

Reminder:
The last day of school is Monday, June 16th with an 11:00 AM dismissal.

Let’s finish strong!

Warmly,
Lindsey Fulton
Principal

BUS FAMILIES

I’m reaching out to confirm that your student has been automatically registered for transportation for the 2025–2026 school year based on their ridership during the current school year. Students have been rolled up to the next grade level, and any transitions (from elementary to middle school or middle school to high school) have been reflected in our records.

Please note: If your student is no longer in grades K–6, they are no longer automatically eligible for free transportation under state guidelines. Free transportation is only guaranteed for K–6 students who live more than two miles from school.

However, your student may still qualify for free transportation if your family is approved for financial assistance. Applications for financial assistance will be available later this summer. If you are already approved for financial assistance, your eligibility will remain in place through October 30, 2025. A new application will need to be submitted before that date to maintain eligibility.

If your student will not require transportation for the upcoming school year, please reply to this email by June 6th to let us know. If we do not hear from you, we will assume your student still requires transportation.

Finalized routes, bus assignments, and any applicable payment information will be shared with families in August. In the meantime, please refer to our transportation page for more information.

If you have any questions about transportation, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Best regards,

Olivia Lejeune

SEPAC Updates

To learn more about Reading SEPAC (Special Education Parent Advisory Council), please visit our website: Reading SEPAC Website

Should you wish to receive our monthly newsletter, please send an email to SEPACReading@gmail.com

Please note that Reading SEPAC IS OPEN TO ALL parents/caregivers and not only families who have a child with special needs as we offer various opportunities to connect with other families and provide learning experiences.

Please fill out this brief, anonymous survey to help your SEPAC Board to plan for the 2025-2026 school year. It should only take a few minutes.

This school year we brought speakers to the Reading community on important topics such as literacy success, executive functioning, social emotional learning, school avoidance, the IEP and the special education budget based in large part on what parents highlighted in the annual survey, so it’s very important to make sure your voice is heard.

In addition, your voice helps to steer the conversation between our school leadership and the Reading SEPAC board in our scheduled monthly meetings during the school year. We also want to hear from you on how we are doing in meeting our community’s needs and what more we can do to improve Reading SEPAC.

Please click here to fill out the survey
