Edison Newsletter!
Dear Edison Family,
We’ve had another wonderful week at Edison!
First, a huge thank you to the Gainesville Fire Department for coming to pick up all of our food drive donations. Their partnership means so much to our school and community, and we appreciate everyone who contributed to support local families.
Thank you as well to all the parents who joined us for Family Lunch Week. Our students absolutely loved having you here—it made their day!
As the weather gets colder, we are collecting items for our Holiday Coat Drive. If your family is able, please consider donating a gently used or new coat to help keep a child warm this winter.
As we move into the holiday season, I want to wish each of our families a very happy Thanksgiving. We are grateful for your support, your partnership, and the joy your children bring to Edison every day.
This month’s character lesson focuses on gratitude — a perfect reminder to appreciate the little things and the people who make a difference in our lives. Check out the attachments below to learn more about how you can reinforce this at home.
Lastly, take a moment to look at the information about our Edison Bond Expansion Project to learn about the exciting improvements coming to our campus.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support — together, we’re building a strong and caring school community!

Reoccurring reminders:
Traffic Reminder 🚗
To help keep traffic flowing safely and efficiently, please turn right when exiting the school during arrival and dismissal. This small change will help reduce congestion and ensure a smoother transition for all families. Thank you for your cooperation!
Also, when crossing the street or high traffic areas, please make sure to be crossed by a crossing guard at the cross walk, thank you.
Reading and Writing at home: We do a great deal of reading and writing at school. Parents/Guardians, if you could help us out by helping your kiddos with their home work, also reading to them, and having them write something short and age appropriate (pre-k: trace some letters, Kinder: write a few short words, 1st grade: write a short sentence), would go a long way.
Homework Reminder: I want to take this opportunity to encourage all parents to support their children with their homework. Your involvement in your child's education plays a crucial role in their academic success. By working together, we can ensure that our students are reaching their full potential.
Parental Involvement: Research consistently shows that students perform better in school when their parents are actively involved in their education. I am proud to share that our school has seen a significant increase in parental engagement over the past year. Let's keep up this positive momentum as we work together to support our children's learning journey.
Summer School Update: I must inform you that there will not be summer school offered this year for attendance recovery. Therefore, it is imperative that your student attend school on time each and every day unless they are sick. If they are sick please leave a doctors note with the front office.
School policy: Parents, we will not allow early pick up of students after 3pm, including Doctors appointments, etc...
Transportation Changes: ALL Transportation changes must be made no later that 12pm. Any changes after that time cannot be made. Thank you,
Happy Thanksgiving!
