GSFE GREATNESS - EXCELLENT Celebration Day GSFE GREATNESS - EXCELLENT Celebration Day

Our students and staff celebrated an exciting milestone—our EXCELLENT report card rating! We held a celebration day for students and staff. As part of our excellent celebration, students enjoyed a variety of fun and engaging activities, including inflatables, STEM challenges, LEGO building, sidewalk chalk creations, tug-of-war, and a ā€œNuke ā€˜Emā€ tournament. The excitement didn’t stop with the students—teachers joined in the fun with their own competitions, including a tug-of-war showdown, an obstacle course relay, and a cup-stacking contest.

Celebrations like this remind us why we take pride in celebrating GREATNESS every day. We look forward to continuing this tradition of excellence and to building on our successes in the months and years ahead!

Congratulations to Mrs. Renee Pagoota-Wight, our GSFE Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Wight joined GSFE two years ago as a STEM teacher, bringing energy, creativity, and a genuine passion for science education. Prior to joining our school, she taught in North Carolina, working with students in grades K–2. Since coming to GSFE, Mrs. Wight has inspired students to explore, experiment, and develop a love for STEM. Her enthusiasm is contagious—she makes science exciting and accessible, helping students see the joy in discovery and problem-solving.

Through her dedication and commitment to service, she brings out the greatness in every child, nurturing not only their minds but also their confidence and curiosity. Her dedication to hands-on learning and innovative teaching strategies has made a lasting impact on our school community. We are proud to honor Mrs. Wight for her outstanding commitment to our students’ growth and learning.

We are proud to announce that Cooper Long will represent GSFE as our 2025–2026 HTC REEL Kid. Each year, HTC recognizes one student from every Horry County school who has overcome obstacles and demonstrated strong leadership through academic and personal achievements.

Cooper was selected because he is an outstanding student who always has a smile on his face. He goes above and beyond to help others whenever he can and is consistently thoughtful and kind to everyone he meets.

We congratulate Cooper on this wonderful award and are excited to have him represent our school this year!
