Reading Connections
MCAS MEDIA CENTERS NEWSLETTER - January 2022
What's New...
MCAS Media Centers have welcomed over 1,900 new titles, collectively, in 2021. Make sure to stop by and take a look at what's new in your media center. We also have a virtual library for each school where you can request a book or find links to great digital resources. Look for your school's virtual library link on the media center webpage.
Rally To Read
Grades k - 6 have been participating in the Reading Is Fundamental (RIF) Rally To Read 100 Campaign. Let's make a push in January and February to make sure that our groups are reaching their 100 books reading goal.
Read The Den Book Challenge
MCHS teachers Ms. Clinkert and Ms. Geyer are holding a book challenge for second semester. Students read 10 different books from different challenge criteria and earn a reward. Flyers and challenge book logs will be posted in the school. Book logs can be picked up from Clinkert- A204, Geyer- A236, and the library. It would be fantastic if teachers would also participate as well to be a model for students.
Book Creator
Book Creator creates digital books designed by teachers and students. Combine text, images, audio and video into one project. Free teacher account with 1 library and up to 40 books. Books can be published online and/or downloaded as eBooks.
