A shout out to these amazing athletes on punching their ticket to the 2025 Iowa State Track Meet! Congratulations Shayla Greeley, Payton Becker, Asher Ebert, Claire Zweibohmer and Taleah Dohlman!

The Spanish 1, Spanish 2 and ELL classes took a walk across the street to visit the Riceville Family Care Center. We made a variety of Latin American crafts such as mini piñatas and Mexican mirrors, as well as making and sharing “Fresas con Crema” and “Churros” with the residents. We had a great time and enjoyed our cultural connection day!

Our 4th grade students walked to the Riceville Lumber & LP Gas Co on May 2 as part of the Riceville K-4 Business Partnerships. Jess and Josh Mauer led our tour. We learned about designing houses and other buildings using computer programs. We learned about ordering materials and where certain materials mainly come from. We learned about propane and filling tanks at people's homes and businesses safely. We enjoyed the juice and cookies they shared with us too!

Nancy Nickerson Lee, the Founding Executive Artistic Director of Cedar Summerstock Theatre, visited Riceville elementary this morning for a special musical theatre presentation. Riceville students Elijah and Gavin spoke about their history with CST and how it has positively impacted their lives. College cast members Logan, Andrea, and Connor displayed some of the puppetry that will be on stage for The Lion King, Jr. (opening June 6th at the CRC), taught our students some choreography for Circle of Life, and got everybody up and singing!

Riceville students K-8th are invited to sign up for one of two upcoming theatre camps in Osage or St. Ansgar!
