Mission Statement

St. Joseph Catholic School fosters a diverse community of disciples empowered through a rigorous and inclusive Catholic education rooted in Gospel values and service to others.

Police Officer Sponsor

A very special thank you to the Marchese family for sponsoring the police officer at Mass this week. Family sponsors cover the $135 cost for our off duty Winter Haven Police Officer to be present on our campus during school Mass or other special events. The sponsoring family also receives 13.5 volunteer hours (as families earn 1 hour for every $10 when requested by the school). A special thank you to all families who have already scheduled a sponsorship of a police officer. If you are interested in sponsoring a police officer, please reach out to Ms. Summer at sdehaven@stjosephwhschool.org.

mandatory sports meeting

For those parents that were not able to attend the mandatory meeting of all parents of students wishing to play sports, we are offering another opportunity. Mrs. Haas will have another sports meeting this Friday, September 8th at 8am in the parish center. If your child is hoping to play sports, and you missed the first meeting in August, please make it a point to attend this meeting. This will be the last opportunity.

New Parent Support Program: Navigating the First Years at SJCS

PTO is proud to host a new program for families new to SJCS. This is intended for parents of students who recently joined SJCS, perhaps within the last three years. Hear from administrators, teachers, parents, etc. of the many opportunities available to make the most of your time at a St. Joseph Eagle! We are offering two initial meetings on Monday, September 18th at 8am and then again at 6pm to accommodate all parent schedules. We will offer dinner and babysitting.

If you are relatively new to St. Joseph, enhance your experience by joining us for this program. Watch for more information to be forthcoming in next week's edition of Eagle's Eye.

please complete

Our PTO is asking all parents to complete this Google form (see link below). Keep in mind that each family is required to give 20 service hours per school year. If you can let us know your interests and availability to get involved, it will allow us to reach out to you at times to assist. This should only take a few minutes. Thank you in advance.

St. Joseph Catholic School Read a Thon fundraiser kicks off Friday with a Pep Rally. We are excited to reinforce good reading habits while raising funds for our school.

Our goal for this event is $45,000.00. All the proceeds from this fundraiser will directly benefit St. Joseph Catholic School and be used for facility improvements.

This will be a school-wide event starting on Friday, September 8th and ending Friday, September 15th. The students will read 20 minutes a day during a designated time with their teachers and class for a total of 100 minutes.

Students are encouraged to ask family & friends to sponsor them with a flat amount. Email or text this link https://app.99pledges.com/fund/sjcsdive they can donate directly to your child, or you can share the QR code below.

This yeat we are asking students to bring gently used books in during the week to do a book swap or donate books to be distributed to shools in our community.

We are excited to see our students have fun reading and sharing their love for books with this event!

Thank-you for your Support!

data day

Our teachers spent the day last Friday reviewing student data in order to personalize student learning goals and determine each student's individual educational needs. One of the biggest benefits of sending your children to SJCS is that they never get lost in the crowd. Our classroom teachers, resource teachers, counselors, and administration develop personal relationships with your children to educate the whole child.

join mrs insua for mass

Your family is invited to join Mrs. Insua for the 4:30 pm Mass this Saturday. This weekend’s Gospel is from Matthew 18:15-20 and says, “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them." Gather together with us and experience our Lord in the liturgy of the Eucharist with your child/children! Students who are in their Mass uniform can see Mrs. Insua after Mass for a dress down pass.

Sacraments at St. Joseph

If you wish for your child to receive the sacraments of Baptism and/or First Communion at St. Joseph Catholic Church, please watch for information about registering in future editions of the Eagle's Eye. Also, please save the date for a Sacramental Preparation Orientation meeting for parents on Sunday, October 1st at 9:45am in English and 11:30am in Spanish. More information will be forthcoming.

St. Joseph Prayer

O Blessed Joseph, faithful guardian of my Redeemer, Jesus Christ, protector of Mary, the virgin Mother of God, I choose you this day to be my special patron and advocate and I firmly resolve to honor you all the days of my life. Therefore, I humbly ask you to receive me as your client, to instruct me in every doubt, to comfort me in every affliction, to obtain for me and for all the knowledge and love of the Heart of Jesus, and finally to defend and protect me at the hour of my death. Amen.
