Principal's Message
Dear Hiteon Community,
What an incredible year it's been, Hiteon! As we wrap up the 2024-2025 school year, we're filled with immense gratitude and excitement for what's ahead.
This year has been extra special as we celebrated Hiteon's 50th anniversary! What a milestone, and it's truly thanks to the remarkable Hiteon community that we've reached this golden achievement. Our school is a vibrant, nurturing place because of the dedication and spirit of so many: our incredible families who support our students every step of the way, our tireless volunteers who give so generously of their time and talents, our devoted staff who pour their hearts into teaching and caring for our children, and of course, our amazing students whose curiosity, resilience, and joy light up our hallways every single day. Together, you all make Hiteon the special, welcoming, and thriving school it is.
As the final bell rings, we hope you all have a wonderfully relaxing and rejuvenating summer break. Take time to rest, play, explore, and make cherished memories with loved ones.
We're already looking forward to welcoming everyone back and creating more wonderful experiences together for the next school year!
Warmly,
Janet Maza, Principal
Jenny Read-Emslie, Assistant Principal

🙌 5th Grade Clap Out Tradition June 10 👏
Hi Hiteon Families,
Hiteon has a beloved tradition of doing a fifth-grade Clap Out on the last day of school. It is our way of saying goodbye and good luck in their future endeavors. This year, we will have the clap-out that looks similar to the past.
We will have the fifth-graders walk through the halls of Hition, being clapped out by all the other grade levels and staff. Families are invited to come and clap them out in the backyard (playground). Please see the attached map. It will be so much fun and a bit emotional!
When: June 10 @ 2:05
To ensure the safety of all our students, fifth-grade teachers will send a Google form to collect information about how your fifth-grade student(s) will be going home on the last day of school.
After students complete the Clap Out, they will all return to their classrooms to gather their belongings. It is important that parents wait until after the dismissal bell to gather their child(ren). We need to ensure all students get home safely. This day can be chaotic, so please adhere to the normal dismissal structure.
There will be a designated area marked with your child(ren)’s teacher's name for you to wait in, from which they will be released at the back of the school. On this day, some students are riding the bus and being picked up by car, so our teachers need all students to return to class. Then, the teachers will release students as usual.
Once you have your student(s) after dismissal (if you have time), we will have a spot in the backyard to take some last-day-of-school pictures for our fifth graders.
No individual student picture-taking until students are dismissed at 2:20pm.
Please contact your child’s classroom teacher with any questions about the Clap Out.
Best,
Hiteon Team

2025-2026 School Supply Kit Ordering is Open
Can you please set up a ParentSquare blast to announce supply kits. Today would be great if possible, otherwise Monday would work too. Thank you
As the school is winding down it's time to start thinking about next year! One simple step you can do to prepare for next year is to order your student's supplies now, and the best part is, they will be waiting in your child's classroom on the night of Meet your Teacher in August.
The kits contain all the items needed for your student for next year (with one small exception for Kindergarten) Full itemized lists will be posted to the Hiteon website soon.

Volunteer Background Check System
If you haven’t done so already, please reapply to be a volunteer in the Beaverton School District. We’re implementing a new volunteer management system over the summer and need time to process and complete the criminal background checks for all applicants.
Start on the Volunteer webpage on the district website. The entire process — including the review of the Child Abuse Prevention & Reporting and Adult Sexual Misconduct training materials — should take less than 10 minutes to complete.
Thank you for prioritizing our students’ safety and for your willingness to volunteer in BSD.
