LEST WE FORGET
Gifts From Me
The winter break is coming …. AND WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Ms.Scott's 7/8 class is running a fundraiser called "Gifts From Me." We will transform Fairfield into a store and all students in the school will get an opportunity to do their very own winter break shopping. Gifts will be purchased, wrapped, tagged and ready to be placed right under the Christmas tree, given for Hanukkah or for a family birthday!
WE NEED YOUR HELP TO MAKE "GIFTS FROM ME" A SUCCESS!!!
Ms.Scott and her students are asking for your help with the following:
*We need donations … lots and lots of donations!
These donations can be anything that a child might purchase to give as a gift – trinkets, old jewelry, decorations, ornaments, hats/mitts/scrafs, purses/wallets, cups/mugs etc. – anything that would make a great gift. (Not to be picky but please no VHS movies, CDs or large kitchen appliances.)
If you could please pass the word to family members, neighbours, friends, co-workers we will take anything they would like to donate.
Donations can be brought to the school anytime from now until December 6th.
(Please specify to the office they are for Gifts From Me or send donations with your son/daughter which can be given to Ms.Scott.)
*We also need Christmas gift wrapping supplies.
Any extra wrapping supplies (wrapping paper, gift bags, tissue paper, tape, etc) we will take them!
Thank you so much for helping us with this fundraiser! Stay tuned for shopping details 😊

New Climber Update
The mulch is in! We are now waiting for the inspector to give the go ahead. Let's hope the weather keeps cooperating so we can play on it before the snow flies!

Woodworking in Grade 7 & 8
This month, the students in Mr. Argyle and Ms. Scott's classes had the chance to work with the Expanded Opportunities Team to explore the construction sector by designing and building their own stool.
The students used this project-based learning opportunity to see how the curriculum can apply to many different contexts. Throughout their time, students learned about pathways (work, college, skilled-trades and university) while discussing different opportunities they can look forward to in high school. The project allowed students to strengthen their transferable skills and build abilities with Critical Thinking and Problem Solving!
They used all these skills while working on their projects:
- Innovation, Creativity, and entrepreneurship
- Self-Directed Learning
- Communication
- Collaboration
- Global Citizenship and Sustainability
- Digital Literacy

Hello Falcons community!
Toevember is upon us.
"What in the world is a Toevember"
I'm so glad you asked. It is a sock drive that is being put on by SOCKS Kingston (Socks Napanee, forwarded me to Kingston this year in case you're wondering what happened!) We are going to collect Socks for the month of November for those who are in need of some warmer wear this winter. SOCKS Kingston is looking for any sock sizes, and are thrilled with whatever families are able to donate.
"Is this a class competition??"
Sure is.
The Grade 5/6 classes will count our donations from the previous day - per class - every morning beginning on Tuesday November 5th. This is a lovely math opportunity for our groups and we be letting the school know the class totals every week in the announcements!
We will post them on the Canva announcements and at the end of the month there will be a special prize for the winning class! (Pizza. Pizza is the prize.)
If you have any questions, comments, concerns, just want to chat and say hi, please let me know - always happy to answer!
Thank you and happy sock collecting!
Mr. Stover
