Meet our Assistant Principal Mrs. Salto

My name is Mrs. Kara Salto and I am very excited to join the D303 family this year! I will be serving as the Assistant Principal both at Ferson Creek Elementary School and Wild Rose Elementary School. I will primarily be in the building at Ferson Creek on Mondays and Thursdays, at Wild Rose on Tuesdays and Fridays, and Wednesdays will be flexible.

I began my educational career in the Hiawatha School District serving as both a 5th and 2nd grade teacher. Prior to coming to D303, I worked in the Kaneland School District serving as a 2nd and 3rd grade teacher, Interventionist, Assistant Principal, and Principal.

I look forward to supporting and collaborating with staff, students, families, and the D303 community. My number one goal will always be that your child is safe and learning. I believe it is so important to partner and collaborate with families to best support the needs of students. Clear and transparent communication is critical.

On a personal level, I live in Sugar Grove with my husband and our two cats. I enjoy listening to audiobooks, going on walks, Crossfit, and latin dancing.

I can be reached by email at Kara.Salto@d303.org and by phone at (331) 228-6855.

I can’t wait to meet you soon!
