Thomas Community Newsletter
September 16, 2026
Dear TMS Community,
As we enter our fourth week of school, it’s inspiring to see our students settling into strong academic routines and building foundational habits for success. We know that your support plays an important role in helping students thrive, and we are grateful for all that you do to support your child and TMS!
Student Involvement: At TMS, we strive to help students build meaningful connections with both staff and peers. Getting involved in extracurricular activities is a wonderful way to enrich the middle school experience. Clubs, sports, and student organizations give students opportunities to discover new passions, develop leadership skills, and build friendships that help make school feel like a true community. TMS offers something for everyone, making right now the perfect time for your student to try something new, join a group, and connect beyond the classroom!
Featured Opportunities to Get Involved:
- Chess Club
- Garden Club
- Intramurals
- Poms
Parent Involvement: Just as our students are finding ways to connect and contribute to the TMS community, we encourage parents to do the same. The TMS Wolfpack needs you! Your time, talents, and support make a difference in our school community. See below for specific opportunities to get involved.

Parent PowerSchool Accounts
It's essential to set up a Parent PowerSchool account as this is how you can report student absences, early dismissals, or late arrivals as well as check on your student’s academic progress. Please take a few minutes to set up this account. Information is included below.
Account codes & directions for all 6th grade and new to TMS families were emailed from district on 8/21
Didn't get the email? please fill out this form.
Report Absences via PowerSchool
TMS online attendance reporting now takes place on the PowerSchool Parent Portal. You must know your Parent PowerSchool username and password to log in and report an absence for your child online.
Video directions on the new attendance reporting system can be located here.
Tardy Note: Our office must log any student that arrives after 7:50am as tardy. If a parent notified the office of a valid tardy reason, it is recorded as an Excused Tardy and is no cause for concern. If the office received no parent notification, it is recorded as an Unexcused Tardy.
***PowerSchool Attendance Reporting is only available using a web browser (Chrome, Safari, Microsoft Edge, etc) and is not available on the app. Still experiencing issues with your account, please email thomastech@sd25.org
Thank you for your partnership in ensuring daily attendance and timely absence reporting!
Parent Schoology Accounts
A Schoology parent account offers a lens into the day to day work in your student's classes. With an account, you can view the daily agenda, homework assignments, syllabus and class activities. You can also view the Calendar and help your student take note of upcoming assessments and project due dates.
Any student who was not connected to a parent account was sent home with directions and the necessary code to create one during PACK on 9/15. Please check backpacks and contact thomastech@sd25.org with any questions.
***Please note that if you have an active Schoology account in another district (D214), you will need to create a new account with a different email address for D25.
