Weekly Update

We will have a quick 3 weeks to wrap up the 1st semester. This week is a great time for students who have missing assignments to get those completed so they can start December without any missing work and are able to stay ahead. Reminder, we do have our after-school assistance program Monday-Thursday, 3:30-4:30. This is a great way for students to get extra help and support on their work.

As tradition at the middle school for December, we will have our countdown to Christmas Break, we will have theme dress-up days for students to participate in if they would like, as well as days where we will collect donations or items to give back to our community.

Our students have been hard at work participating in a nationwide vocabulary competition! Over the past few weeks, they’ve been trading the #1 spot in Kansas back and forth with Cheney Middle School, and the competition is coming down to the wire!

To keep the motivation high, we’ve added a little extra incentive:

• If our school finishes #1 in Kansas and places in the top 50 schools nationwide, we’ll celebrate with a schoolwide pizza party. To add some icing on the cake, our assistant principal, Mr. Alan, has agreed to spend a night on the roof of the school.

Our students have shown incredible effort and teamwork, and we’re so proud of their dedication. Encourage your child to keep practicing those vocabulary words every chance they get, every point counts as we push for the finish line!

The Jefferson County Health Department is hosting a valuable presentation on Youth Mental Health Awareness on December 3rd at 6 p.m. This is a great opportunity, and it’s completely free to attend!

Reminder for games ALL students must pay to get in - Admission prices are $5/Adult, $5/Student (K-12)

If your child is planning to attend a lot of the home boys and girls basketball games you might want to look at getting them a pass. A pass for all Middle School games would be $35 and can be purchased from Linda in the office. If you would like a middle school and a high school pass those are $60 for a student.
