One of Gold Rush’s honored school traditions is our annual fun run known as The Digger Dash. This year The Digger Dash will be held on Friday, September 6th. The Digger Dash promotes fitness and fun while raising money for our school. We are excited to improve the furniture in our shared learning spaces with 100% of the donations received.

GRE staff kicked off our fundraising with an all school assembly Friday. Staff did an olympic relay that ended with the principal and assistant principal getting doused in paint, water, confetti and slime. The fastest students in each class will spin a prize wheel and cover GRE leaders in one of these items. The fastest classes will get a prize.

Please see the Digger Dash flier that came home with your child today to see how you can make a Digger Dash donation. The grade level schedule can also be found on this document.

SCHOOL CELEBRATIONS & GOALS SCHOOL CELEBRATIONS & GOALS

It was great to see many families at Back to School Night Wednesday! It was a chance to meet your child's teacher, tour his/her classroom and learn about the coming year.

Back to school night was also an opportunity to learn about school celebrations and current goals. Please view the school presentation if you were unable to attend. GRE's Spring 2024 CMAS data was shared as a school celebration. The average third, fourth and fifth grader outperformed the District in English Language Arts, Math and Science! The average GRE third, fourth and fifth grader also outperformed students in numerous other neighborhood and charter schools. We couldn't be more proud of our students, teachers and families! We thank parents for reading with their children and practicing math facts at home each night. We know that even a few minutes spent working on these essential skills significantly increases student achievement.

As always, we appreciate your partnership as we work to support your child academically, socially and emotionally this year!

CELEBRATING DIGITAL CITIZENSHIP CELEBRATING DIGITAL CITIZENSHIP

Gold Rush students showed their spirit this week as they learned the importance of being Digital Citizens! As students dressed up they also learned the importance of being safe and respectful online. They learned numerous strategies for keeping themselves and others safe.

The lessons and resources used throughout the week are from an organization called Common Sense Media. Common Sense Media also has several valuable resources for parents. Click here to learn more.
