5/19 Lions Pride ~ Orgullo de Leon

Estimadas familias,

Feliz Viernes y espero que todos hayan tenido una buena semana. Ciertamente ha sido una semana calurosa aquí en St. John's y en Portland y espero que hayan podido mantenerse frescos y disfrutar del clima cálido. Sé que se espera que el clima se enfríe la próxima semana y esto será un alivio para todos.

Esta ha sido una semana ocupada en la escuela ya que estamos recibiendo más cerca del final de este año escolar. Nuestros estudiantes de 5to grado se están preparando para su transición a la escuela intermedia y esta semana hicieron su viaje de campo anual a "BizTown" donde participaron en su imaginario futuro carreras Nuestros estudiantes de 2do grado también tuvieron una excursión esta semana al Oregon Children's Theatre donde vivo “Donde la montaña se encuentra con la luna”. Finalmente, los estudiantes continuado completando las evaluaciones de fin de año esta semana en Matemáticas y Alfabetización. La próxima semana, nuestros estudiantes en los grados 2-5 tomarán su evaluación de alfabetización MAP de fin de año. También esperamos la próxima semana nuestro día de campo el martes y nuestro próximo día de espíritu escolar el viernes "Día de vestirse como un maestro".

Dear Families,

Happy Friday and I hope you all have had a good week. It has certainly been a hot week here in St. John’s and in Portland and I hope you have been able to stay cool and enjoy the warm weather. I know that the weather is expected to cool down next week and this will be a relief to all.

This has been a busy week at school as we are getting closer to the end of this school year. Our 5th grade students are getting ready for their transition to middle school and this week they made their annual field trip to “BizTown” where they engaged in their imaginary future careers. Our 2nd grade students also had a field trip this week heading to the Oregon Children’s Theater where they watched “Where the Mountain Meets the Moon.” Finally, students continued completing end of the year assessments this week in Math and Literacy. Next week our students in grades 2-5 will take their end of year MAP literacy assessment. We are also looking forward next week to our Field Day on Tuesday and our next school spirit day on Friday “Dress Like a Teacher Day”.
