💥 Champlain Pre-College Summer Program
Champlain College is offering sophomores, juniors, and seniors hands-on learning opportunities in game development, filmmaking, cybersecurity, and animation. But these popular programs fill up quickly. Families who register by 5 PM on January 5th pay 2025 prices with our Early Bird special!
PROGRAMS:
Animation Academy: This is where aspiring animators learn what the industry demands and how to bring their ideas to life. Students will explore the core principles of animation while building both artistic and technical skills through intensive, project-based work under the guidance of a professional animator (think Avengers, Transformers, Spider-Man). By the end, they’ll create professional-quality animations for film, games, and visual effects.
Cybersecurity & Digital Forensics Academy: Investigate cybercrimes. Build secure networks. Analyze digital evidence. Present findings like an expert. Students in this program will face the same challenges cyber analysts tackle every day, using the latest tools and techniques and gaining hands-on skills in one of the most in-demand fields.
Filmmaking & Media Production Exploration Academy: See how stories transform from ideas into finished films. Learning from an award-winning filmmaker, students will script, pitch, shoot, and edit their way through the production process as they collaborate to create new works and discover which film and television careers match their talents.
Game Academy: Explore every corner of game development: art, design, programming, sound design, and more. Students will learn from our acclaimed Game Studio faculty, work with teammates to build original game prototypes, and discover how real game studios work. (Did you know Champlain is ranked a Top Ten School for Game Design by the Princeton Review?)
Indie Game Studio: Do you have students with pre-existing game experience? Time for them to level up! This advanced program covers everything indie game studios face: concept creation, game development phases, rapid prototyping and critique, and how to pitch your game. They’ll leave with an understanding of how studios operate and have a playable prototype ready to share.
