Westbrook Park Elementary School
Wednesday Folder
Dear Westbrook Park Elementary School Families:
It has been another great week at Westbrook Park. As we continue settling into the year, students have been working hard to learn expectations and establish consistent routines throughout the school day. This week, we began establishing our lunch and recess procedures, with students practicing how to move through these parts of the day safely, respectfully, and responsibly. Our children also had the opportunity to meet our new recess monitors, Mr. John and Ms. Michelle, who we are excited to welcome to the Westbrook Park team. Students began participating in MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Supports), providing additional opportunities to support each child’s academic and social-emotional growth.
Back to School Night: Thursday, September 10th
We are looking forward to welcoming families to Back-to-School Night on Thursday, September 10, beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the gymnasium. We will begin the evening together with a brief introduction before families have the opportunity to visit their child’s classroom and learn more about the school year directly from their teacher.
For families with multiple children, we will offer two classroom visit sessions:
Session 1: 6:50–7:10 p.m.
Session 2: 7:15–7:35 p.m.
This schedule will allow families to attend presentations in more than one classroom.
Important Upcoming Dates
MAP Testing Begins: Monday, September 14
Students will begin MAP testing next week. These assessments provide teachers with valuable information about student progress and help us identify areas of strength and opportunities for continued growth.
Picture Day: Friday, September 25
Picture Day will take place on September 25. More information regarding ordering and schedules will be shared as the date approaches.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support as we begin the school year. We are excited about the progress that our students are making!
School Counselor Update:
Please join us in welcoming Ms. Angela Vollmer as our new school counselor. Ms. Vollmer joined our Westbrook Park team last week, and has been getting to know our staff and students as she transitions into her role. Please feel free to reach out to Ms. Vollmer with any counseling related questions or concerns.
Mrs. Cameron Bush
Attendance Awareness Month Message
September is Attendance Awareness Month!
Every school day matters. Regular attendance helps students stay connected to their teachers, classmates, and learning, while also building the habits they need for success in school and beyond. Establishing consistent morning and evening routines, planning ahead for appointments, and communicating with your child’s school when challenges arise can make a meaningful difference in student attendance.
Together, we can help every student be present, engaged, and ready to learn—because every day counts!

Home Access Center (HAC)
Homeroom and teacher assignments will be available through the Home Access Center (HAC) beginning August 27th. HAC is an important resource where families can view schedules, grades, attendance, and update contact information, including emergency contacts and email addresses. Please review and update your information before the start of school to ensure you receive all school and district communications. The District will email HAC login credentials on the day it opens. If you experience difficulties accessing your account, please email parentportal@upperdarbysd.org. Families who have forgotten their password will need to reset it using the password reset feature.
HAC Guide: HAC Parent Handbook
