💖 Thank You, Families
Message from the Superintendent
As we close another remarkable school year, I find myself reflecting with gratitude on all we have accomplished together.
A school year is much more than a calendar of events. It is a journey filled with moments that challenge us, inspire us, and shape who we become. It is found in the first day of school and the final walk across the graduation stage. It is present in the lessons learned, the friendships formed, the goals achieved, and the obstacles overcome.
This year, I have had the privilege of witnessing the very best of TVUSD.
I have watched students discover new passions, overcome challenges, serve others, showcase their talents, and achieve extraordinary accomplishments. I have seen perseverance in the classroom, determination on the field, creativity on the stage, and kindness in our schools. Every day, our students remind us of what is possible when they are supported, encouraged, and given opportunities to thrive.
Their success is the result of a collective effort.
It is made possible by exceptional teachers and staff who bring dedication, expertise, and heart to their work each day. It is strengthened by families who partner with us, support learning at home, and champion their children's growth. And it is sustained by a community that believes in the value of public education and the promise of every student.
At our State of the District this spring, we celebrated TVUSD's Journey to Excellence. As I reflect on this year, I am reminded that excellence is not a finish line we cross or a destination we reach. Excellence is found in the choices we make every day. It is found in our commitment to continuous improvement, our willingness to support one another, and our shared belief that every student deserves the opportunity to succeed.
That commitment has been evident across our district this year. Together, we have celebrated academic growth, expanded opportunities for students, strengthened programs, fostered innovation, and continued to build schools where students feel connected, supported, and inspired to achieve their dreams.
As we turn the page on another successful year, I want to thank you for being part of this journey. Thank you for your trust, your partnership, and your unwavering support of our students, staff, and schools.
I hope summer provides your family with time to rest, recharge, and enjoy meaningful moments together. We look forward to welcoming our students back on August 12 as we continue our Journey to Excellence and build upon the momentum we have created together.
Until then, have a safe, joyful, and well-deserved summer.
Dr. Kimberly Velez, Superintendent
