Hello BHS Community!

The 6th-grade community outreach team will organize a soup collection in honor of the upcoming “Souper Bowl”! Now the “Souper Bowl” is not the football game you are thinking of, instead, it is an opportunity for our Beach Haven School community to give back and help our fellow neighbors!

This is how it will work: The entire school has been divided into two teams. The Movin’ Monkeys and the Cruisin’ Capybaras! Over the next 4 weeks, we will ask everyone to bring in any canned goods. This can be canned soup, vegetables, etc. Just like the football game, we will have four quarters. After every quarter we will announce to tell everyone how many cans each team has collected so far. At the end of the four quarters, we will announce the winner!

Remember this is not just a friendly competition, but also a way to support our local community and those in need. At the end of the 4 weeks, we will bring the canned goods to the Saint Francis food pantry. Thank you in advance for your participation, and may the best team win!

Beach Haven School Continues its Random Act of Kindness Day Tradition!

Beach Haven School is spreading kindness again this month in honor of Random Act of Kindness Day on February 17th. It is also Kindness Month at the Beach Haven School as part of their School Character initiative. Pre-kindergarten to 6th-grade students collaborated to decorate 180 coffee sleeves for the Beach Haven Wawa. These coffee sleeves were designed with love and included uplifting messages and drawings, such as having a great day, spreading kindness, and being nice. Mrs. Jill Falletta’s first-grade class organized the project and delivered the sleeves on Valentine’s Day. This is the third year of Mrs. Falletta’s projects for Random Act of Kindness Day. Past school-wide projects included kindness shells and nursing home friendship cards. Mrs. Falletta’s mission

Every Day Matters- Attendance

Students who attend school regularly have been shown to achieve at higher levels than students who do not have regular attendance. This relationship between attendance and achievement may appear early in a child's school career. A recent study looking at young children found that absenteeism in kindergarten was associated with negative first grade outcomes such as greater absenteeism in subsequent years and lower achievement in reading, math, and general knowledge

Chronic Absenteeism is defined by the U.S. Department of Education as missing 15 days or more a year. If your child reaches 18 or more absences, it then has to be reported to the State of New Jersey for our School Performance Reports.
