Welcome, Mrs. Dense!

Mrs. Dense will be taking over for Mrs. Stambaugh in mid-January. We hope you will join us in welcoming her on board!

A word from Mrs. Dense:

Hello! I'm Andrea Dense, and I am beyond excited to officially join the Red Mill family as a member of the staff! I started my teaching career as a PreK teacher in the School District of Lancaster. After 6 years, I knew it was time to take a step back from teaching so I could enjoy raising my family with my husband, Brett. I couldn't stay away from the classroom and found myself subbing in Lancaster and then eventually in West Shore when we moved back to Etters in 2021(I’m a Red Land grad!) I have been a day to day substitute, a building substitute and a long term substitute, all at Red Mill. Last year I was able to step in to take a maternity leave in 1st grade for 7 weeks and another leave in 2nd grade for 5 weeks where I was really able to immerse myself in the school community. I'm thrilled to be a full time teacher once again, right here at Red Mill, the same school my children currently attend! In my free time I love spending time with family and friends, reading, going to the beach/all things summer and watching my kids play sports.

Congratulations, Mrs. Stambaugh!

After 35+ years of dedication and service to the West Shore SD and specifically, Red Mill, we wish Mrs. Stambaugh nothing but the best as she soon enters retirement! Mrs. Stambaugh's final day will be January 17, 2025. At that time, Mrs. Dense will assume all teaching roles and responsibilities. Mrs. Stambaugh, THANK YOU for ALL that you have done during your career-- we will miss you!

Congratulations, Mrs. Tofani!

As we previously noted, Mr. Scharlau will soon be departing for Highland Elementary. While there, he will be assuming the role of Acting Principal for the remainder of the school year. As a result of this, Mrs. Tofani was recently Board approved for an Intensive Management Experience (IME) in his absence. These two corresponding moves will be going into effect on Monday, December 16.

Mrs. Tofani is actively pursuing her principal certificate and administrative certification. This opportunity will not only help support Red Mill in Mr. Scharlau's absence, but it will provide Mrs. Tofani with valuable experiences as well. While Mrs. Tofani will be limited in some capacities as to what she can/cannot do (since she doesn't hold an official certificate), she will be able to fulfill many of Mr. Scharlau's typical roles and responsibilities. Mrs. Tofani is currently a second grade teacher here at Red Mill.

A word from Mrs. Tofani:

I am very excited to take on this new role as Red Mill's IME! When I'm not at school, I enjoy going on walks with Percy, playing Pickleball in warmer weather, and visiting Sea Isle City in New Jersey. I live in Harrisburg with my husband, our cat and of course, Percy! We are looking forward to moving into our first home together in January.
