As you have seen in Superintendent Shannon's emails and newsletter, she is looking for parent/caregiver participation in the upcoming Strategic Planning process. There are three ways to participate: family forums, surveys, or as a committee member. The survey will be sent out to the whole community on January 25th. Parent forums are being held on:
- January 14 @ 6:00 pm - All families @ CMHS Library Commons
- January 22 @ 6:00 pm - All families via Zoom (This link will be provided to families closer to the date of the forum.)
And, anyone interested on being on the committee should fill out the form linked here by Wednesday, January 15, 2025, to indicate your interest. It is important for consistency and progress of the work that if you submit interest to be on the committee that you can attend all of the dates outlined below:
- Tuesday, March 4 @ 4:30 - 7:30 pm
- Tuesday, March 11 @ 4:30 - 6:30 pm
- Tuesday, March 25 @ 4:30 - 7:30 pm
- Tuesday, April 1 @ 4:30 - 7:30 pm
- Tuesday, April 15 @ 4:30 - 7:30 pm
- Tuesday, April 29 @ 4:30 - 7:30 pm
While it has been recognized that this level of commitment is high, the work will set bold goals and determine the direction of the Cohasset Public Schools for the next three to five years. Stakeholder input is valued and is essential to the success of this plan and the district. Your involvement at the survey, forum, and/or committee level is appreciated and will be represented in our new strategic plan.
Also, the feasibility study for the potential new middle and high school building is entering its next phase where conceptual designs will be shared. You are invited to attend the next feasibility public forum on Tuesday, January 28th @ 6:30pm in the CMHS auditorium. Ai3, the district's architects, will be there to share several conceptual designs for a potential middle/high school project. These designs will fall into several categories: code upgrades only, addition/renovation, addition/demolition/renovation, and new construction. We hope you are able to attend.
Calling All Artists!
WHAT IS IT? a full day ART project where you will work with other artists in grades K-12.
WHAT WILL WE MAKE? You will create a permanent piece of art that will be displayed in one of the schools. WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS? You will get a chance to be creative, thoughtful, collaborative, and artistic and to work with kids of all ages!
WHEN IS IT? The event will take place on February 5th from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.
Please fill out the following questions to be a candidate for the ONE DAY collaboration of the selected students from Cohasset Public Schools. All students will be required to get their own transportation to and from Cohasset High School. Lunch will be provided.

Winter Notes
Winter is really here! Some things for you to know...
❖Outdoor recess occurs when the feels like temperature (factors in wind chill) is 20 degrees or above and it is not raining
❖In order to play in the snow, students must have snow pants and boots (or a change of pants)
❖Throwing snowballs is not allowed; no snowball fights. However, we encourage snowman building should we actually get some that sticks!
Please label each clothing item...we will do our best to return labeled items from the lost and found.
Safe Snack List
Please pack your child's snack separate from their lunch.
Transportation
For information regarding school transportation, please visit the transportation page on the new CPS website. All students must be registered through transportation to ride the bus. However, buses are full at this time and they are placing students on wait lists.
