Updates From The Principal
Hello NRMS Families,
Next week the first round of MCAS assessments begins with the English Language Arts tests. There are two sessions of testing for all students in Grade 6-8. The first session will take place on Tuesday April 7 and the second session will take place on Thursday April 9. Please be sure that students get great sleep and come to school with a fully charged Chromebook. The tests are untimed, so we encourage students to do their best and take their time. These assessments provide us with important data that informs our instructional practices, including the scope and sequence of our units of study.
We are planning for the many spring events that take place each year. The 8th grade dinner dance is scheduled for June 18th at the Sheraton in Eastham. We need parents and guardians of our current 6th and 7th graders to step up to help us organize teams to decorate the ballroom, provide and set up food and beverages for the 8th graders at the event, chaperone the dance, and clean up the space at the end of the evening. The PTO organizational meeting for this event is Wednesday at 6pm. Please consider donating your time or donating food/drinks to help make this event special for our 8th graders. If we do not have 6th and 7th grade parents assist with the event, we will be unable to have this dinner dance take place. Thank you in advance for making sure our 8th graders get their special end of year event.
Finally, we continue to see a number of cases of the Flu and other illnesses that are impacting student and staff attendance. We are doing our best to air out classrooms and clean door knobs and railings. Please continue to follow the guidelines we shared last week regarding the Flu that is also linked here.
Enjoy the weekend!

Nauset Athletics Boosters Club
Nauset Middle School Families,
We are excited to share that the Nauset Middle School chapter of the Nauset Athletics Boosters Club is getting started, and we are looking for parent volunteers to join us!
Our goal is to support and enhance the athletic experience for all students by helping to fundraise and assist with some of our staple events, including the Cross Country All Cape Meet and Basketball “Pack the Gym” Nights. These events are a great way to build school spirit and create memorable experiences for our student-athletes.
We invite you to get involved and be part of this important work. Our first meeting will be held virtually on:
Wednesday, April 15th at 6:00 PM
