Hello Woods Lake Families,

Welcome back from spring break! I hope you enjoyed your time together. Currently, we are in Trimester 3 which is the last trimester of the school year and we need your support to achieve our end of the school year goals of increasing student achievement, promoting positive behavior, and improving attendance.

Also, please note that state assessments will take place this month, and your encouragement at home will make a significant difference. Together, we can ensure our students finish strong.

The district will begin a series of meetings to begin the rollout of the KPS 2025-2030 Strategic Plan. Superintendent Dr. Darrin Slade will lead the sessions, which are planned at every school and are open to the public. If you are unable to attend the meeting scheduled at your school, you may attend a different session. You can download the list by clicking the link below the image.

To maximize student learning time, please ensure your child arrives at school on time each day at 8:44 am. If you need to pick up your child before dismissal for an emergency or an appointment, kindly contact the main office and ensure they are picked up no later than 3:00 PM.

4. M-STEP Testing for Grades 3-5 on April 15th through April 25th.

5. Tuesday, April 22nd-Bus Driver Appreciation Day.

6. Scholastic Book Fair week of April 28th.

7. Tuesday, April 29th-Strategic Planning Meeting with Superintendent, Dr. Slade at Woods Lake at 6:00 pm.

8. Wednesday, April 30th-Gilmore Piano Lab Recital @ 6:00 pm.

9. Please make sure that you completed the online Letter of Intent to secure your child's enrollment for the 2025-2026 school year.

10. Students participate in outdoor recess so please make sure that your student dresses according to, the weather.

11. Please complete the Education Benefit Forms so your child can continue to receive free breakfast and free lunch. Please access the form at the bottom of the newsletter.

1. We can't make same day bus changes.

2. If you have to make a transportation change then contact the Main Office.

3. Once the change has been made then you will be contacted.

4. Your student(s) will have to ride their assigned bus until the change has been made or you will have to transport your student(s) to and from school until the change is made.

5. Please contact the Main Office no later than 3:00 pm if you have a dismissal plan change.
