Bryn Mawr Bulletin
February 2026
Note from Mrs. Beverly
Dear Families,
This month our school has been participating in the Great Kindness Challenge. We have created a bulletin board of ways students have been kind at home or in the community, we have kindness BiNGO, our buddy classrooms are meeting to participate in a kindness activity, we held a kindness assembly, we nominated Captains of Kindness to go out into the community on February 13th to spread kindness there, and are collecting donations for AYFS to support members of our community. I am so proud of our kind school community. Our little learners show kindness daily.
Thank you for continuing to instill kindness, respect and empathy with your children.
With respect,
Mrs. Beverly
Bryn Mawr Principal

Health Updates from Nurse Robichaud
I hope your winter break was restful and filled with special moments. As we begin a new year, I want to share a few health reminders to help keep our students safe, warm, and ready to learn during these chilly New England winter months.
Dressing for Winter Weather
January in New England brings cold temperatures, wind, and sometimes, as we have recently seen, snow and ice. Please be sure your child comes to school dressed appropriately for the weather.
Helpful winter clothing reminders:
Warm coats or jackets
Hats, gloves or mittens
Scarves or neck warmers
Boots on snowy or icy days
Layers (sweatshirts, sweaters) for extra warmth
Even if temperatures feel mild in the morning, afternoons can be much colder. Students may also go outside for recess whenever weather permits, so proper winter attire is essential for their comfort and safety.
Cold, Flu & Germ Prevention
Winter is the peak season for colds, flu, and other viruses. You can help keep everyone healthy by reminding your child to:
Wash hands often with soap and water
Cover coughs and sneezes
Avoid touching their face
Stay home if they are feeling ill or have a fever
If your child is diagnosed with a contagious illness, please notify me at jrobichaud@auburn.k12.ma.us or 508-832-7733
Please refer to our wellness page regarding illness.
Rest, Nutrition & Hydration
Shorter days and busy schedules can make rest harder this time of year. Adequate sleep, healthy meals, and drinking enough water all play a big role in supporting immune health and focus at school.
Extra Clothes
Accidents happen! Please send in a labeled spare set of clothes in your child’s backpack.
If you have any health concerns, medication questions, or need assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Wishing you and your family a healthy, happy 2026.
Warm regards,
Nurse Jill
Reading Nook from Mrs. Fenuccio
Notes from Mrs. Fenuccio in the Reading Room
Lately I’ve been trying to use my devices less and connect with the people and things around me that I love. Recently I’ve read some books about the effects that technology has had on growing minds. I want to encourage families to take more time to connect without devices.
Winters are long and it’s tempting to reach for a device to occupy our time.
Try some of these ideas to do together instead:
-play board games
-built an indoor fort (use boxes, blankets, and chairs!)
-make crafts
-write a letter or make a card for someone
-find a recipe and make something
-read books
SEL Scoop from Mrs. Moriarty
In collaboration with thousands of schools across the country, Bryn Mawr students participated in The Great Kindness Challenge! Our students have been talking about ways to be kind friends, family members and community members. The kids have so many wonderful examples of the ways they show kindness every day! Our kindness challenge will culminate with our “Captains of Kindness” visiting various locations in town to say Thank you to important people in our community including the Auburn Fire Department, the Auburn Police Department, Auburn Youth and Family Services and the Auburn Public Schools central office staff. We will also make a special visit to Eddy Pond Assisted Living this year to spread kindness and smiles.
Thank you to all of our families who donated to our food drive to help fill the shelves at the pantry at Auburn Youth and Family Services. Donations are still being accepted! If you or someone you know would like to visit the pantry please contact AYFS at 508-832-5707 ext 102 to schedule an appointment.
