Pioneer Post BJHS Week of October 26-30, 2026
Pioneer PostBJHS Week of October 26-30, 2026

We acknowledge and are mindful that Bidwell Jr. High School stands on lands that were originally occupied by the first people of this area, the Mechoopda, and we recognize their distinctive spiritual relationship with this land, the flora, the fauna, and the waters that run near campus. We are humbled that our campus resides upon sacred lands that since time immemorial has sustained the Mechoopda people and continues to do so today.

Traffic Safety

Families, please remember that it is illegal to stop or park a vehicle within 20 feet (about a car’s length) of the approach side of a crosswalk. Students need to be able to see oncoming traffic during the morning and afternoon times. Let’s look out for each other’s kids during these high traffic times. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Positive Pioneer - October: Casey Crowson

Casey received the Positive Pioneer award because she is always working to meet the needs of her diverse learners. She also works with outside businesses to build connections with our school and math department. I personally got to see how excited she was when her students understood the concepts they had been working on at the end of the day on Friday before a three-day weekend. At first, I thought she was just excited about having a few days off, but then I realized it was really because her students were successful. Seeing her students learn and understand something new brings her so much joy. It’s clear that she truly cares about her students and loves seeing them succeed. -Chris Palmer

Positive Pioneer - September: Chris Palmer

Chris displays his infectiously positive attitude within the math department, as well as with his students. He is often sharing a laugh with students or colleagues in the hallways between classes, and constantly brings energy and positivity to the math department meetings. Thank you, Chris, for making our school a fun place to be! -Elliot Levin

Collaborative Colleague - October: Lee Lee

This colleague has recently become the perfect addition to our daytime crew, after working diligently to keep our campus clean during his evening shifts. Ever since he has promoted to his new role, he has impressed us with his communication. He is always willing to help and responds promptly to the needs of our staff. The Collaborative Colleague Award goes to none other than our Sr. Custodian, Lee Lee! -Jenny Loch

Collaborative Colleague - September: Jenny Loch

Jenny takes on any task that needs to be done in the office, efficiently and without complaint. She daily jumps in to answer phones, help with attendance, assist students, work on payroll or any other office tasks that need to be done. She frequently volunteers to do things that she hears others being asked to complete. Not only does she help keep the office running, but she supports other departments who need her skills creating labels, certificates and the like. She does so much for Bidwell, that most don't realize that she does it all while only working a part time position. Jenny offers excellent ideas, amazing skills and a wonderful sense of humor to keep things humming along and keep us all laughing. For these reasons and many more, I nominate Jenny Loch for the Collaborative Colleague award! -Denise McKeon
