KAES Keenections

I hope you have enjoyed the extra days off that we received because of wintery weather. I know some kids were disappointed without too much snow on the ground to play in but at the same time, I think we were all glad to be safe and warm. Although I did see a few snowmen go up despite the small dusting of snow that we received in our area. Hopefully everyone got at least a few nostalgic flurries.

This week students will be testing. MAP testing is not high stakes assessment but a monitoring of the child through tests to see how each child is learning and growing. Please help your child do their best with adequate sleep, healthy breakfasts, and positive encouragment. At KAES we assess student learning with the MAP test three times over the year (fall, winter, and spring). These tests are not tied to grades but we encourage students to do their best for accurate evaluation of their progress.

Please remember that this Friday will have noon release with no After School Care (ASC) and no lunch. Then school will be closed on Monday for the Martin Luther King Jr Holiday.

Lunch order is to be placed with the homeroom teacher each day.

$4.25 for Elementary

$5.00 for Middle School

All meals are vegetarian

Monday - Lasagna, garlic bread, salad, juice or milk

Tuesday - Burritoes, rice, salad, juice and milk

Wednesday - Grilled cheese sandwich, tomato soup, carrots, juice and milk

Thursday - Hotdogs, tater tots, cucumbers, dessert, and juice or milk

Friday - Half day, no lunch or ASC

Jan 20 - MLK Holiday (No School)

Jan 27 - 100th day of school
