News from PE Dept (New)
Davis Fenway Day--April 15th
On Tuesday April 15th, from 10:45 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., we are in need of adult volunteers to assist with our Davis Fenway Day!
We won't hold try-outs, so anyone who can field, catch and toss a ball underhand is absolutely welcome!!! We will bring the relief pitchers if necessary... 🙂
Volunteers must stay for the entire event and all interested volunteers must have an up-to-date CORI form on file with the Davis School office.
Please be sure to review the particulars (date, responsibilities & time commitment) BEFORE completing the Google sign up. In addition, since volunteer slots are limited (volunteers will interact with ALL THREE grade levels), we kindly ask that only one adult volunteer, from each family, sign up for this event.
Sign-up link: Fenway Day Volunteer Sign Up
Kindly be aware that filling out the Google form DOES NOT guarantee your placement on the volunteer list. All confirmed volunteers will receive a follow up email with further details.
If you have a specific question about the event please contact your child’s/children’s P.E. teacher: Ms. Venezia, angela_venezia@bedfordps.org or Mr. Ientile dean_ientile@bedfordps.org.
Thank you, in advance, for your willingness to volunteer!

2025 Read-A-Thon Winners! (New)
The BEST PTO Read-A-Thon Team is excited to announce the winners of our 2025 Read-A-Thon! Thanks to the incredible efforts of our students, we saw a remarkable increase of almost 53% in reading minutes compared to last year. Together, we accumulated a staggering 496,474 minutes read during the month of March!
We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the families and educators who encouraged students to engage their imaginations and strengthen their reading skills. Your support has made this event a huge success!
A special thank you goes to our Read-A-Thon Committee: Erin Leonard, Leslie Savoy, Nuria Lyons, and Valerie Arvidson. Your dedication and hard work made this event possible, and we truly appreciate all of your efforts.
If your family is interested in contributing to the fundraising portion of the event, there is still time! We are asking for all donations to be submitted by Wednesday, April 8th. All funds raised will directly support experiences for students at Davis and Lane Elementary. Donations can be made in the following ways:
Cash or Check (please make checks out to the BEST PTO)
Credit Card (via ZEFFY)
For families who created an account on 99Pledges, please ensure that your student’s reading minutes are entered by Wednesday, April 8th.
Thank you once again for your support, and we look forward to continuing to work together to provide enriching opportunities for our students!
