Cache Connection

Dear Cache Valley Community,
It's hard to believe we're already two weeks into the new school year! From exciting classroom discussions to new friendships on the playground, our students and teachers are fully engaged in the rewarding work of learning.
I believe our schools mirror the strength of our community. From classrooms to cafeterias, buses to ball fields, we have incredible schools because of the people who serve in them and the community that supports them. For that, I am deeply grateful. Thank you for your continued partnership to help students thrive.
We are committed to ensuring every student feels seen, heard, and valued. Here's to a year filled with curiosity, kindness, and inspiring moments that make a difference.
Warmly,
Dr. Todd McKee
Superintendent, Cache County School District
Each month, our schools hold a safety protocol drill. For September, students and staff will practice a HOLD.
What happens during a HOLD protocol? During a HOLD, teachers close and lock doors. Students and teachers remain in classrooms, and learning continues. Updates are shared with school staff as needed.
What kind of situations require a HOLD protocol? Occasionally, situations may arise that require students and staff to remain in their classrooms for a time. For example, we may clear the halls during a medical issue to allow access to outside medical assistance.
Cause for Applause
Our school district has four core values: Student Focused, Community, Character, and Excellence. Check out some of the ways our students and staff represent each value!
Student Focused
The Cache Center for Advanced Professional Studies (CAPS) is now live, offering high school students a unique way to gain professional experience. The program partners students with local businesses, allowing them to work on real-world projects and build valuable career skills.

Community
What started as a lunch meeting among friends has grown into the Driving for Education golf tournament, one of Cache Education Foundation's largest fundraisers. Now in it's 21st year, the tournament brings local businesses and schools together to raise money for students and classroom supplies.
Character
Lincoln Elementary in Hyrum has a special tradition. On the first day of school, students are greeted by teachers and staff, cheerleaders from Mountain Crest High School, community members, and representatives from local businesses. The community rallies together to show our students excitement and support as they cultivate a love for school.
Excellence
Our teachers and staff are committed to professional development and growth. This drive for excellence was on full display at this year's "Ignite the Spark PD Conference," where educators came together to learn cutting-edge research, develop best practices, and inspire each other!
