8th Grade Dance
Dear Parents, Guardians, and 8th Grade SMS Students,
We are looking forward to the 8th grade semi-formal dance this Friday, May 9th. We have an awesome evening planned for our students. The dance officially begins at 7:00 p.m. and concludes at 9:00 p.m. We do not let students walk home from this event so please be sure to have a ride arranged for pick up at 9:00 p.m. With this being a special event, we do open our doors at 6:45 p.m. and invite parents and guardians to come inside and take pictures up to 7:15 p.m. At 7:15 p.m. we do ask for all parents to leave and allow for your child to enjoy the dance and time with their friends. SMS will also have a photographer for the beginning of the evening taking pictures of our students as they arrive. These pictures will be shared with all of our students. This event is chaperoned by South Middle staff.
Tickets are on sale all week during 8th grade lunch shifts. Tickets are $20 per student and only South Middle 8th graders may attend. Students can only purchase one ticket. Water, soda, and cupcakes are included as part of the price of a ticket.
During drop-off time, if you are coming inside to take pictures please utilize our staff parking lot and actually park in a designated parking spot. If you are only dropping off please utilize our main drive and pull up to the front of the school and drop off your child and then proceed to exit.
During pick-up time we will utilize both our main parking lot and our bus loop. We ask for any last name starting with the letters A-L to follow the traffic flow on the map below for our main lot. For any last name starting with the letters M-Z please follow the traffic flow on the map below for our bus loop. If your child is carpooling for pick up please use the last name of the driver. As always please be cautious in our parking lot as we will have a lot of 8th-grade students at SMS Friday night.
