Dear CAP Families

Welcome to a new school year! September is always an exciting time as our students reconnect with friends, meet their teachers, and settle into new routines. Our faculty and staff have worked hard to prepare engaging learning experiences and a safe, supportive environment in which every student can learn and grow. We are excited for the year ahead and look forward to celebrating the accomplishments of our students throughout the year.

As we begin, I ask families to help reinforce the habits that lead to success. Students should arrive on time each morning. Our school day starts at 7:35am, so please plan accordingly. Students should wear the required and complete school uniform, attend every day, and come ready to learn. Regular attendance, being on time, and consistent effort make a tremendous difference in academic achievement. Please also encourage your child to seek help whenever needed and to take advantage of the many resources available through our teachers, counselors, and support staff.

A successful school year depends on a strong partnership among students, families, and the school. We encourage parents and guardians to remain involved by reviewing grades on PowerSchool, communicating with teachers, and participating in school events such as Back to School Night on September 9th. Thank you for entrusting us with your children and for supporting our mission. Together, we can make this school year one filled with learning, growth, and success for every CAP student.

Best wishes,

Mr. Richichi

High School Principal

Hello CAP students and families! As we move into a new school year, our goal is to create a safe, respectful, and positive environment where every student can succeed. Please be reminded that all students are expected to use clear book bags, come to school in full uniform (blazers are not permitted to be kept overnight in lockers) and follow our cell phone policy, which includes shutting them off upon entering the building and storing them in their lockers. Finally we must remember to treat others respectfully, and make responsible choices throughout the school day.

The Student Climate Center is here to support students while maintaining clear and consistent expectations. We encourage families to speak with their children about accountability, good decision-making, and the importance of asking for help when needed. By working together, we can make this a successful and enjoyable school year for everyone.

The CAP High School has already been quite busy already and we are really starting to ramp things up in September. Classes are already in full swing. The Seniors came in early for their portraits. We hosted the Class of 2030 for their orientation on August 24th and our athletes have been hard at work with team tryouts for the fall sports teams. Our annual Activities Fair will be taking place on September 2nd after school and we look forward to welcoming all of you to Back to School Night on September 9th and the Freshman Meet and Greet on Friday, September 25th.

Congratulations to Nathan Arroyo on attending the Harvard Young Global Leaders Institute!

This summer, Nathan had the opportunity to expand his knowledge, develop his leadership skills, and connect with students from around the world while experiencing life on the Harvard campus. We are incredibly proud of Nathan for representing the CAP community and embracing this amazing opportunity. Keep reaching for new heights—we can't wait to see what's next!

CAP's Participation in the CEP Program CAP's Participation in the CEP Program

CAP participates in the federal Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). CEP is a provision from the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010 which allows schools and local educational agencies (LEAs) with high poverty rates to provide free breakfast and lunch to all students. CEP eliminates the burden of collecting household applications to determine eligibility for school meals, relying instead on information from other means-tested programs such as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families.

USDA Nondiscrimination Statement USDA Nondiscrimination Statement

Dear Members of the CAP Community,

We are writing to inform you of an important update to the 2025-2026 Student Handbook.

In compliance with federal regulations, all materials that inform the public about the USDA Child Nutrition Programs (such as the National School Lunch Program) must contain the current USDA Nondiscrimination Statement. To ensure that our handbook is fully compliant and transparent regarding our commitment to equal opportunity in all school activities and programs, the official USDA Nondiscrimination Statement has been added to the handbook.

The full, official statement now included in the handbook reads as follows:

In accordance with federal civil rights law and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) civil rights regulations and policies, this institution is prohibited from discriminating on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex (including gender identity and sexual orientation), disability, age, or reprisal or retaliation for prior civil rights activity.

Program information may be made available in languages other than English. Persons with disabilities who require alternative means of communication to obtain program information (e.g., Braille, large print, audiotape, American Sign Language), should contact the responsible state or local agency that administers the program or USDA's TARGET Center at (202) 720-2600 (voice and TTY) or contact USDA through the Federal Relay Service at (800) 877-8339.

To file a program discrimination complaint, a Complainant should complete a Form AD-3027, USDA Program Discrimination Complaint Form (PDF), from any USDA office, by calling (866) 632-9992, or by writing a letter addressed to USDA. The letter must contain the complainant's name, address, telephone number, and a written description of the alleged discriminatory action in sufficient detail to inform the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights (ASCR) about the nature and date of an alleged civil rights violation. The completed AD-3027 form or letter must be submitted to USDA by:

1. mail: U.S. Department of Agriculture

Office of the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights

1400 Independence Avenue, SW

Washington, D.C. 20250-9410; or

2. fax: 256-1665 or (202) 690-7442; or

3. email: Program.intake@usda.gov

This institution is an equal opportunity provider.
