Careers Classes Mock Interviews
Eighth grade students in Mr. Manning's Careers class conducted mock job interviews to practice appropriately responding to some common job interview questions. Students were asked five questions at random from a list of ten of the most commonly asked job interview questions. Students were interviewing for the position of Sales Representative at Mr. Manning's fictitious company: Pencil Perfect.
Students had to use their knowledge of the company and prior research about common interview questions to practice answering their five questions. This experience gives students an opportunity to feel what it is like to have a job interview and prepare them for any potential interviews they have in the near future!
Imagination Station Context Winners
The staff of Imagination Station, the LMMS Creative Magazine, voted for the winners for its winter contest! Congratulations to Shelley Lin, a 7th grader, whose black and white sketch won first place; and to 2nd place winner Eliana Shavitz, an 8th grader, for her short story, “Burning at Dawn.”
We also selected two Honorable Mentions – 7th grader Lyla Thottukadavil and 8th grader Azal Esengeldieva – whose artwork also will be specially highlighted in our digital magazine.
Everyone else who submitted something will have their original creations appear in Imagination Station when it’s published this spring. Great job, everyone!
