2024-25 School Calendars Available Now

The School Board Adopted the Proposed 2024-25 Calendar during the Jan. 22 meeting. 2024-25 Calendars for the Primary, Middle, and High School level are available on the district website now.

Key dates include:

  • First Day of School — Aug. 27
  • Winter Break — Dec. 22 - Jan. 3
  • Spring Break — March 24 - 28
  • Last Day of School — June 9

As a reminder, the school year begins before Labor Day to allow for increased instructional time for High School students taking Advanced Placement (AP) courses in preparation for AP Exams, to better align with the OSAA schedule, and to plan for potential inclement weather closures to avoid ending the school year late in June.

Safety Spotlight — How Can You Recognize the Symptoms of an Opioid Overdose?

Respiratory depression (shallow or absent breathing) is a hallmark sign of opioid overdose, potentially culminating in a stupor or unconsciousness, cyanosis (bluish or grayish discoloration around lips and nail beds), and lack of oxygenation to vital organs resulting in a heart attack and death. Call 911 immediately if you suspect an overdose. Opioid ingestion can be confirmed once the patient is alert, but naloxone treatment should begin before confirming if opioid overdose is suspected. Naloxone, also known as Narcan, is available in WLWV middle and high schools, as are staff members who have been trained to administer it.

Know the signs of an opioid overdose:

  • Pinpoint pupils
  • Slow, shallow, or no breathing
  • Gurgling or snoring
  • Difficult to wake or can’t wake
  • Extreme drowsiness
  • Cold, clammy skin
  • Gray or blue skin, fingernails, or lips

Volunteer in WLWV Schools!

The West Linn-Wilsonville School District uses HelpCounter for volunteer registration and sign-in to increase safety and security for all students. Interested volunteers can register to volunteer in WLWV schools by visiting the Volunteer Registration webpage. Simply select 'Start' to fill out your application, which includes a background check. The first time that volunteers sign-in to volunteer at any WLWV school they will be prompted to accept a Volunteer Agreement.

Volunteers must also re-register every three years, or when volunteering at a new school. Note that volunteer coaches register through a different process. Contact your school's athletic director or principal for more information.

Volunteering in WLWV schools is an extremely rewarding experience. Your time is greatly appreciated by both staff and students!

Check Out the Community Bulletin Board
