HMS Athletics - Eligibility Requirements

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We hope this message finds you well! We would like to take a moment to celebrate the dedication and hard work our student-athletes bring to both their sport and their schoolwork. We are incredibly proud of their commitment to representing Hull Middle School with excellence.

As part of our commitment to supporting their overall growth, we want to remind everyone of our athletic eligibility guidelines. To remain eligible to participate in games, students are expected to maintain a passing grade (70% or higher) in at least 5 out of their 6 classes.

Academics always come first, and we believe that success in the classroom builds the foundation for success on the field and court. Our goal is to ensure that every student-athlete has the tools, guidance, and support needed to thrive in both areas.

How You Can Help:

  • Monitor Progress: Please regularly check your child's grades on the student portal. Use this link to login to ParentVUE.
  • Encourage Support: If your student is struggling in a class, encourage them to reach out to their teachers for extra assistance or take advantage of tutoring resources.
  • Open Communication: Keep an open dialogue with coaches and teachers if you ever have concerns about your student’s workload or academic performance.

Thank you for your continued partnership, encouragement, and support of our athletic programs and student-athletes. If you have any questions or need additional resources to support your child's academic progress, please do not hesitate to contact Ryan Robertson via email at ryan.robertson@gcpsk12.org.
