Your Student's Attendance Matters!
In February, Springfield Public School's average daily attendance was 88%. Each student that missed school last month added up to over 12% of students missing out on critical instruction time on average every day! Your student's attendance matters!
Every day of school counts towards your child's school journey of growth and discovery, and sets them up for being ready for success after high school. Chronic absence is defined as 18 days a year—or just 2 days a month – even if those absences are excused!
We understand that illnesses take their toll on student attendance. Keeping kids at home when they are sick helps keep other students and staff healthy. Find the latest guidance on when to keep students home for illness and when they are ready to return in the Health Services section of our website.

Enrolling in the Dual Immersion program is beneficial for both native English and Spanish speakers!

Kinders, Seniors Dream Big and Go Beyond 🚀
In February, Thurston High School and Springfield High School hosted future Colts and Millers kindergarteners at a home basketball game to connect and inspire both sets of students to set their eyes on their future and 'Dream Big.' Seniors met kindergarteners at half-court to present the elementary students with goody bags and t-shirts proclaiming the younger kids "Future Colt" and "Future Miller." The event is part of the District's "Go Beyond" campaign. We can't wait to see how far the inspiration takes them!
